I sure didn't see that coming.

I hope the replacement will put the train back on the tracks.

One problem I see is that the leadership allowed this to go on for a long time, at the expense of the organization. Perhaps they will see that irresponsible handling of the money they collect has ultimately lead to an abandonment of the org. by the membership. If they see that, they may decide to change their habits. Pardon me if I don't hold my breath.

It's a shame, the NRA has done some great work in it's lifetime, and it's mission is still needed.

Do a google search and see how many board members they have and what kind of money they make. Its disgusting. I never made that kinda money per year in my lifetime. I also cant help but think that if they let this go on then some of the current board members aren't as crooked as Pierre

The NRA has done countless good for the firearms community. My hope is this organization can be restored to the NRA of the past.

I hope a new broom sweeps clean. There seems to be a lot to be done to restore a great organization.

Well to me, human nature has to be taken in consideration. And, humans have a tendency to please themselves. And, I will leave it at that.

2nd Amendment Foundation, Friends of the NRA and smaller groups like the ISRA (Illinois State Rifle Assoc) tirelessly fight for the rights given to American Citizens. Right now they may be actively fighting the worst state in the history of America and need your support. The NRA needs a huge shake up, this may be the biggest fight against an anti American Senate, White House and media. We are literally getting our butts kicked while they are not doing what we paid them to do.

That is over half of what I made from 1967 until I retired in 2011. If I remember right I was under $240,000 for 44 years of working some jobs no one else wanted. I had fun with what I made and that is what counts.

You will find that in many areas of the country one cannot live with any less, for instance, Washington DC, New York City, LA............
I lived and worked in DC for many years and the cost there was twice where I live now. Out here in the sticks I can live much better
on less money.

Im sure you are right but im sure there job warrants that kind of money. A board member for an organization thats run on donated member funds in my mind doesnt warrant that kind of money

Long, long overdue. I've been a life member for a long time and I told them several years back that they weren't getting another cent from me until LaPierre was out. Told them they might as well stop the emails, calls and mailings until then, but of course, they didn't. I did still read American Rifleman every month.

This is the biggest thing that needed to happen go get things going back in the right direction.

I use to belong about 20 years ago but quit when they started buying politicians. But it was corrupt organization way before that. One gun shop owner I knew quite well said that the leadership was a nest of snakes and scorpions. She took down all the NRA signs in her shop and actively discourage her customers from joining, pointing them to other organizations. She had worked on some of the national committees so she saw and heard what was going on. I had a lot of respect for her.

It has been a "funny" organization as although there has been negativity, there also has been a lot of positivity.

Now if the organization folded back in the 90's, when he first joined, the question is, would we still have as many rights as we have now?
