Prayers for a family

Post by Cofisher » Fri Aug 18, 2023 11:16 pm

We sadly lost my older son, matt, a couple nights ago. It is a great loss and huge sorrow for our family. Matt was my shooting buddy. He was a great Hunter and an excellent father. He is missed by many people. We will have a celebration for his life next Friday night. There will be fireworks and firearms. He would have liked that.

He died in a one vehicle rollover coming home from work. He drove the dirt backroads as a habit.

I appreciate you all and know you feel the pain with me. This group has been part of my support system for years.

God Bless, Jim
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™ From our family to yours,
May the road rise up to meet you;
May the wind be always at your back;
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

A similar thing happened to one of my best friends on the planet. He and I worked together, were in Bible studies together, rode and raced motorcycles with each other as well as with his son. I won't lie, it was an INCREDIBLY tough time for my friend and all his family. Another family at my church lost their son as he rolled a tractor over while getting firewood.

It's hard to say much of anything with typed words on a message board that can help ya, Jim. Just know that a VERY deep faith in God, and time, got these folks through those times, for both of those families. With time, you'll find your new "normal", and with a strong faith, you'll be alright. I know you need to grieve and process this. I pray you will do that, and I pray for you and your family as well.
