Sand for bags

Along with my new shooting bench, I got some Caldwell sand bags. I’ve never used bags, is there a preferred type o sand?

kitty litter, plastic pellets, or lead shot

not clumping type kitty litter. it will eventually turn into a goopy mess.

Rice works well also, and definitely stays dry.

I prefer real playground sand because of its ability to make fine adjustments.

Unfilled bags should be filled with dry silica sand or other inert fillers
