Gas vs Electric Pickup Challenge

GMC vs Ford pickup hauling challenge. The haul was comparing a fuel tank against a full charge. Nice idea. It was a pretty realistic comparison.

Some day in the future, electric vehicles might become viable for towing, but not yet Unless, of course, you are only towing a few miles and have plenty of time to recharge. Here in Wyoming, with lots of miles between towns, lots of wind and mountains, cold temperatures, and few if any chargers, good luck if you’re towing with an electric vehicle.

With the current battery technology it just won't work....no magic here! But the automakers think they know better and I will sit back and watch it FAIL! Fossil fuel be needed for a long time! By the time you had enough battery for an 18 wheeler it would not have any load carrying capacity!!
Just dumb idea from "butterfly" folks who have no idea how things work and don't travel much!

My thoughts were similar. Maybe, the nice idea through some? I thought the comparison was a nice idea. It seemed to be a realistic comparison. Electric may be okay for driving around town. But, it has a ways to go for a long haul. Nonetheless, it was interesting to see how things are progressing.
