From Oregon, and wondering why I don't own a Henry yet...haha

Post by mingus » Fri Apr 29, 2022 12:53 pm

Greetings from Southern Oregon.
I've been happy shooting my multiple Marlin 39A's in Silhouette, but have always wanted a Henry. So maybe joining this forum will push me over the edge.

You won’t find a more enabling group. May I suggest the 357? In one of many styles. Lol

Well everyone say the Marlin 39 is the best 22 levergun. They are nice guns but Id rather shoot my Henry with an Oct barrel any day the action is alot smoother. Getcha one and find out. Welcome to the forum

Have a few 39As as well. I have always liked them. Also have some Henrys, 22 lr lever and pump, 22 mag, and 17HMR in rimfire. Like them too. There are plenty of Henrys to pick from so jump right in.
And Welcome to the Henry forum.

Welcome from Eastern Washington State (Spokane). Like many here I too have a 39A that I won’t part with. But these Henry’s have an appeal that is hard to resist. I’m partial to the Big Boy Steel’s in various calibers, there’re just down right fun to shoot.

Welcome! Yep, have a 39A too, a 1957. It is staying put. Don't own a Henry.22, but, have a couple centerfifies; .357 and .45 Colt. REALLY like 'em.
You'll land one sooner or later. We'll see to that. 8-)

Welcome from MN. Good folks here. A Henry .22 is next on my list as well. These lever guns are kind of addicting, but there are far worse habits to have 🙂.

 Took the words right out of my mouth, on the enabling.
And a 357 would be a nice one to start with. ;)

Al, don't know about the 39 being the best, but one of the slickest 22's I ever worked was a buddies Winchester 9422.
That thing was slick as butter, and shot well. I do like my little H001.

Never shot a 9422 and probably never will. I see on Gunbraker they are selling for around 1500.00. Im not one who would pay that for a 22.

I really love my Henry's. They look real perdy too! I have a special edition Talo in 22lr which has the Rose Gold finish but, my favorite ones to shoot are the the 357 and 45-70. We'll have you owning one here very shortly.

A .357? Really? Oh yeah - I forgot. I have one. 😉

It’s a great rifle. Just a single shot- “just”. Super simple machine. Elegant. Accurate. Less cost. Saves on ammo. Some say the singles make you a better shot.

I don’t know about that last part. But everything before that is “accurate”. How’s that for a sales pitch? You’ll have to forgive me if that’s a weak effort. Bottom line - pick a Henry. Any Henry.
