Workin' that steel today with .357 and .45 ACP

Nice mild sunny afternoon today and a good excuse to go down and shoot some steel! Brought along my Ruger Police Service 6 .357 revolver and the BBR .45 1911....I like this thing!
Set up the plates and opened up the Saloon plus wanted to shoot the bowling pin target since I had beefed it up a bit more and it did survive the hits although the pins do pop back up quickly so on video it is hard to see them go down. After a couple of feed issues with the BBR it cleared up and ran fine rest of the shoot. The Ruger shot well too with the mild 357 load of 158 RNFP MB bullet with 6 gr. of Power Pistol.
My ol' buddy Ace stopped by with a new friend and he is going to have to learn the range rules like stay away from my target area!!!
Almost go him one time so had to stay aware of where he was all the time.
Enjoyed the extra capacity of the BBR 1911 when shooting the steel as that BBR was smoking today!

Had a little surprise when starting to store my steel targets away with a nice sized black snake that popped up just as I was getting ready to set
a target in the storage bin!!! He must have wintered in my storage bin.

Nice video Forty. It was hard to tell when you hit the bowling pins. To bad about the dog interference. Isnt there a leash law around that area? Do you know who owns Ace? Seems to me the owner must not care about his dog much and could hear shooting in the area. If it was me the dog would be at the house and not running around where gun fire is.

In this part of the county dogs can run without leash....rural farming district. Ace is okay but this new dog will need a bit of correction.
Maybe good training to watch what is going on around you. Was a good afternoon of shooting though!

Nice shooting. I've always felt those Rugers were under appreciated by most.
Those dogs seemed pesky. Do you know the owners? Do they care that they bother you? I like country living, but there are still dog regulations around my place. We don't have any dogs yet. I plan to have a couple later on.

I know the guy that owns Ace and he is across the road. He told me if Ace is a problem he would put him in the pen but Ace might show up now and then and he moves on if in my way....good dog. The new one that was hanging around I don't know who his owner is.

Another good video Forty and good to see that BBR settle in after the first few hiccups. I think it just needs some more break-in. Always a fun day when you are burning up that powder.
