Anyone seen something like this?

Post by clovishound » Sat Jan 29, 2022 9:16 am

I live in South Carolina, and we get occasional cold snaps, usually not too cold. we are having one of those today. Anyway, got up this morning and it's a little chilly in the house. Heard water dripping off the roof, so figured it was a light rain happening outside. Looked out the window and there is some strange white stuff falling out of the sky. It's not rain, rain isn't white. It also falls too slowly. I thought about going outside and investigating, but I'm afraid it may be some kind of hazardous chemical.

Anybody have experience with this kind of thing? Maybe it's chemtrails too close to the ground?

Stay inside, don’t venture out into that stuff. It might lead to sledding, skiing, making “s&%w angels” and other awful activities. Put the “South” back into South Carolina.

Stay warm and safe, hope the roads don’t become a mess.

Be very very careful. Along with their camo comes "Snow Snakes", and "Snow Spiders"! They're pure white and you can't see them and they're deadly. "How do they kill you ask?". Why they crawl up your behind and freeze you to death.😂

Us Northerners know all about them.

Well, whatever it was, it's gone now. Sun is shining.

I may have to do some internet research and see what this was all about. Hopefully, it won't happen again. Scary stuff.

The worst thing is those flakes affect brain chemistry. People will rush to the store and buy things like the world is ending. It affects their ability to think clearly behind the wheel of a car or truck.

"Wow, these flakes make the roads really slick, I should drive REALLY fast to limit my time on the road, hence my exposure to the dangerously slippery conditions."

or

"I can't see the road markings with that white stuff on the road, so, since I'm driving fast to limit exposure anyway, I will pass on this blind uphill curve..."

Well, it was fun to play in, when I was younger. Now, it is no fun to shovel off the driveway. So, I try and spend the day inside. I guess that is why some people stock up for the Winter?

Seen that phenomenon before on many occasions. That’s why I am in Arizona right now.

We just talked to our daughter Susan in Taylors,SC , she said there was strange weather phenomenon as well, Being she's from Washington she thought she left the snow snake and snow spider behind.. she is unarmed and in immediate need of a .22 or a .410. I told her to keep a pot of hot water on the stove to throw at them.

The CIA is dropping cocaine. It's horrible stuff, you'll get brain freeze trying to snort it all.

I wouldn't mind having an 8 to 12 inch snowfall once a year. As long as it melted off in a day or two. A couple of years ago we had an 8 inch fall and it barely got into the 40s during the days for almost a week. That was about the only time in almost 40 years I didn't go into work for weather when the plant didn't close for weather. Bad thing was it got warm enough in the day for the snow to partially melt during the day, then cold enough at night for it to freeze.

This was absolutely unheard of weather for our area. We get snow every few years, with accumulations every decade or so. But it never sticks around long.

My wife woke me up at 5:30 to look out the window I thought oh crap I'm back in Jersey! Move to NC hoping never to see that white fungus again. But by 6:30 it was all gone and I went back to sleep happy in the thought I was not back in N.J.

“white fungus” Classic! Never heard that one before. (He says as he’s getting ready to head outside and shovel the driveway off)

Well, the strange weather continues. When I checked the weather this morning on the computer, I was shocked by how cold it was outside. Guess I need to start the faucets dripping. I'd be willing to bet this is a record low temp.

When I was a wee lad, we moved from Indiana to Texas.
Culture shock ensued.
It snowed one morning in Arlington Texas, and they closed the entire city, for 1"of snow.

Being the youngsters we were, we got permission from mom to build a snowman in the front yard.
We were out there maybe 20 minutes, scraping snow from every inch of the yard when I turned around to see the police coming into the yard.
They showed us kid's to the front door and rang the bell.

The police told my mother that someone had called to report her for letting us out in the "inhospitable weather"!

My mother came unglued.
I have never seen her so indignant before or since.
She told those officers to get out of her yard and minds their own business.
She made it quite clear that we were well accustomed to playing in much more snow than this, and it was no one's business but hers.

You go mom!
