Sthll Timbersports competition

Post by Grunt67 » Mon May 31, 2021 4:34 pm

Anybody ever watch these guys? These guys can flat handle a saw & axe. That one man crosscut saw is tough.
I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

I have Grunt, but it's been a few years.
Sure enough some sharp saws and axes.

link to YouTube 2020 Stihl Timbersports competition ===> the "Hot Saw" part starts at the 41 minute mark .... the sound really doesn't do justice to the exhaust roar of one of those saws

Those hot saws are a beast. Chain runs at 200 mph.
They're also very temperamental. All has to be spot on.
One guy had a lot of trouble with his, but still won. Don't understand how, but he did.
I've cut a lot of wood in my time, but couldn't hold them a candle.
One guy lost because he missed the cut line.

Don't see a link but guess this is what you're talking about, saw one once on a tv show with a converted snowmobile engine. Can you imagine what it would do to your leg if it got in the way.

From Stihl's website "price tags from $7,000 to more than $10,000" :o

Guess I'll just keep the 2 saws I have now.
