10 to the market
I have selected 10 firearms that I’m going to sell. I mentioned it in another thread. I’ve done some research of current values and have set a figure where I will not sell. It needs to be worth while yet reasonable.
The firearms I’ve selected are four Colt AR15’s. They will bring the most money as all of them are collectibles. Two in particular might fetch a good price. One Bushmaster lower.
Then I have two Ruger Vaqueros in 32. And three no-name .22LR single shots.
My appointment is at 11 am Sunday.

Re: 10 to the market
It’s not easy. The SP1 I put together from a single receiver. Ordered it through an FFL and had every screw and spring sent to me at home.
Only rich people bought an AR15 fully put together. The rest of us assembled them in our homes for $250 to $400.
Back to the SP1. This is built to the exact configuration I carried in nam except this one is only semi. The buttstock has no tool kit, no fence around the coral, 3-prong flash, no forward assist and most important no notches in the bolt. It is an old stock Colt bolt built for the Air Force with their M16. This bolt might be worth half the value. Out of the Air Forces order of 150,000 which had no forward assist all the bolts were notched except for a few thousand. The bolt is also chromed.
The Army had the XM16E1 and AR15 and then later the M16A1 and so on.
So how do you put a value on it? Does anyone else really care if it’s configured to the first few thousand ever assembled?

Im guessing not. Most 15 buyers just care about putting rounds down range with trigger time. Especially the younger shooter

That’s the sad part. The bolt is almost impossible to find and no one cares.

I hate selling to a retail store, they will not pay much. They have to pay way way less than their wholesale cost, so you end up taking a huge loss. If you can't get a decent price, consider listing them here. Even if you have to ship through a FFL, it is not a big deal, SGT is a really active, lively classifieds forum, too bad there is not a similar one on the Wet Side of Washingtion.

Thanks John, that was a good link and I read all the current listings. I have many of the ones listed. Prices are about what I’m expecting or maybe a little low. But I’m only going to get 65-70% going through Cabela’s.John E Davies wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 12:36 amI hate selling to a retail store, they will not pay much. A lot of the firearms I will be selling were bought at wholesale when I had my C&R FFL. I don’t need to get absolute top dollar to come out ahead. Some of my Enfields were purchased for less than $100 and came with bayonets. I would then sell the bayonets at full retail at almost what I paid for both. These rifles are now going for $400 to $600. If I get 65% that is $260 to $390.
If I take a dozen at a time I can do the entire trip in four hours and it is done and I have a roll of cash in my pocket. Getting the next 35% is not going to change my life other than my life will be fully consumed with selling for the next six months.
No I want this done in four weeks only taking four hours each day.
