Range Membership Renewal

Post by Sir Henry » Wed Jan 27, 2021 12:12 am

I mailed my check for the local gun ranges 2021 dues shortly before Christmas and it has not been cashed. I’ve texted them, left a voice message and emailed them a few minutes ago.

The website states the range is open with Covid19 restrictions. Hope it stays open.

Around here you better mail something about a month ahead of time. If you wait any longer you will probably occur a late fee because it wont get there on time but they still charge you the same price for that first class service

That doesn’t explain no reply to texts, emails and voice messages. I think something is up. I know the gal that does the membership renewals and it’s not like her to not respond.

Gene, I agree that it’s strange you haven’t had a response. My club dues are in May and you can mail it to the club PO Box or we have a drop box in our clubhouse. I always use the drop box and my check is deposited within 7 days.

As Al pointed out depending on USPS is a toss of the coin. My wife sent our daughter in law a birthday gift by 2 day Priority mail. It took 8 days to get from VA to SC. 😡

We sent a package to Tidewater Va priority mail, containing auction items.
It was supposed to arrive days before Christmas... A member here got it the day after. "Sorry. :? " was their reply.

Hope it all works out for you Gene, seems like nothing is as it should be these days...... :(

Last year our range started online renewals and that’s been a win for both parties. I did my renewal a few weeks ago and when I got to the range it took about 3 minutes to print a new badge for me. The guy working the counter told me that renewing online makes it much easier for them too.

Perhaps your range could move that direction someday.

Good luck and I hope your shooting soon.

Had a zoom meeting with the legion post that owns our range. I'm on the board and we're trying to stave off bankruptcy.
Things are looking good on that front as we have several parties that want to bid on our property. If we sell that in time
we will have literally millions with which to rebuild and maintain the gun club.
But..... there's always that one member who disrupts the meetings with trivia points of order. PITA! :x
Well, we got the membership meeting done in spite of him.

I heard back from the range this afternoon. Sherri, the membership gal is busy processing 25 to 40 memberships a day. She has a box full of about 500 so it might take a few days.

The membership year is from January 1st to December 31st. The combination to the lock is changed on January 31st but since she is behind it won’t be changed till February 28th.

She remembers me because I pay the full membership cost of $100 and don’t take the $25 cost of being a senile citizen. I donate $40 for not being able to work the required 8 hours on range maintenance and cleanup. And an extra $35 goes to either the Junior Shooters or Garden Club. I alternate each year.

I may donate some rimfire ammo also.
