Our Morning Coffee and Weather

It’s a balmy 46 with a forecasted high of 78. We have been running 10 - 15 degrees above average and this will continue for at least another week.

Heard on the news this morning that we should wait until after breakfast for our first cup of coffee. Apparently this helps with glucose particularly if diabetic. Sorry, not going to happen.

Plans today are to hit the grocery store and do a huge shop, something coming up in five weeks that makes me think some prep may be in order. Already made the Costco trip and plan to return in a couple of weeks. Neighbors invited us over for cocktails and appetizers to share stories about our recent trip to South Dakota.

Second cup of coffee down the hatch and thinking about breakfast. Now where did I read the coffee should come after breakfast?

Every fall I stock up on candles, batteries, food and bottled water. I prepare for power outages which occur every winter and this year is no different.

Many a cup down this hatch prior to breakfast. Stopped for an Egg Sausage McMuffin on the way to the store.

Had a few or dozen cups to get rolling. Played fetch with my attack Shih tzu "Buster Boots" back hurts so didn't ride the motorcycle. Heading to the VA for more physical therapy

First cup nearly supped. A pretty day ahead looks like. Chilly outside now. 42° , but should warm up to 60's so no complaining here. Got green grass in pasture still so better than the people in bad drought areas or where fires are. Plenty to ear for one skinny old man. So, a warm little house. Plenty to eat. A henry (and other guns) to a shoot. Life be good

Mostly sunny, 63 for a high and 43 right now. Homecoming parade today. Will go watch grandkids in the parade. Everyone have a great day.

Again a balmy 50 this morning with a forecasted high of 79 and hazy.....

I’m heading up into the Silver Valley of Idaho (town of Kellogg) to play golf this morning. Nine hole course carved out of a mountainside and canyon. Normally I prefer to walk when I play as I like the exercise and avoiding the cost of renting a cart. This course requires a cart (included in the price) as there are some holes where the distance between the green and the next tee is a quarter mile and has switchbacks on the cart path. We play 18 holes by repeating the the nine holes. Last year I saw elk tracks and sign and today I wouldn’t be surprised to hear a bugle or two. This is also the location of a premium ski resort where the only access to the mountain top is via a gondola ride. In the off season mountain bikers ride the gondola up and bike down the mountain. Beautiful area.

Of course I’m prepping my day be enjoying my Folgers by the cupful!!!

59 on its way to 69 later today with next to no chance of rain .... or first day of what is forecasted to be a beautiful stretch of weather .... regular breakfast of eggs, sausage, and Folgers .... really no hurry to get up and about

Frost in the area this morning but with the air blowing gently across the lake our temp never got below 40.
Coffee, and oh you know.
Better day than yesterday now that the wind has diminished.
Need to walk my woods and mark dead trees for cutting. Firewood season is upon us.

We are somewhere over 130 days and approaching 4 feet of rain for this year.
Long weekend for us down under and someone has really turned it on for trout opening, top predicted to be 80 for today/tomorrow before rain returns Monday for another week with up to 4" predicted.
Hard to believe last weekend it was snowing and today will be above 80.
Off to open some bee hives and do a spring inspection then see if the fish are biting.
