its really a tight field for the race .... after posting a qualifying speed only 1.696 seconds slower than the pole winner, my girl is starting 33rd ....

according to AccuWeather they have a shot at running a good bit of today's race in Pocono .... running the full distance may present a challenge ... race coverage starts at 1PM Eastern time one FS1

It would be nice if they could get it in, but there is a lot of rain crossing Pa. from north to south. But if not, tomorrow looks nice in the Pocono Mountains. I had the same seats there for years when I lived 45 minutes from the track in eastern Pa. I moved away from there in 2012. It is a very pretty race track with all the foliage around the track, a very picturesque setting. The only problem with the track when I went there was that it is hard to see the entire track unless you are up high and can see the whole backstretch. My seats were near the top and were in the shade for most of the race. But it is a 2.5 mile track with 3 turns and the seating is only along the whole front stretch, not all the way around the track.

interesting .... I didn't realize that .... is the interest in that area such that what seats they have are full on race day

They call it a round track that races like a road course because all three turns are different.

I am not sure what the fan base is today as compared to when I watched races there, but there were always empty seats at either end of the grandstand even back then (probably 3/4 full) and now they claim that interest has waned in regard to NASCAR in some locations. Beside this track, the only other two that I visited were Talladega and Dover. Dover is an outstanding place to watch a race.

I would like to add more to the list someday, but so far I've only been to my two local tracks, Martinsville and Bristol. Although I've also been to Daytona and North Carolina, but not on a race day.

If you want to zoom in on the area on the map, the track is located in Long Pond, Pa. At the present time they are showing last years race on TV. The heavy stuff is to start there in about 50 minutes.
