I was out checking horses this morning and got this photo from the back pasture. Looking west as the sunrise hit the mountains.

What a vibrant reflection of the sun -- beautiful!!
Very nice sunrise photo, RR. Glad you were quick enough to catch it.

DAWN--SUNRISE...
by Julie Grenness

Oh, bucolic pastorale,
Dawn brings a carnival,
Golden-pink, sunrise hues,
What a wonder for our view,
Dawn draws back her veil,
Night vanishes, sunlight's grail,
Our skies aflame,
End nocturnal games,
Oh, bucolic pastorale,
Dawn brings her carnival.

Today was completely overcast, gray and dreary here in KCMO.
A little after 7PM, I glanced out the patio window --- and immediately ran for my Nikon hoping I could catch the sudden, magnificent sunset I saw.
I made it in time!!

Taken when looking west toward Lawrence, KS from KCMO. Three quick shots as the sky and sunlight quickly changed, and began fading away.
The view is over our apt complex garages, and the first photo shows the 4 white garage lights already on.

What a beautiful ending to a gray day!
