The wife didn't have anything thawed out from the freezer and wanted to make enchiladas. I said "no way,
we just had those, let's go out". Went to the Ranchero Supper Club, our favorite place.

Carol had a small filet, medium rare with a baked potato with butter and sour cream,
and I had their weekday special, three jumbo fried shrimp, three BBQd pork ribs, and a chicken breast and a wing with french fries.

Along with this we had garden salads with blue cheese, a loaf of garlic toast, and a relish tray with
homemade Pickled corn, pickles, black and green olives, celery and carrot sticks, and a pickled pepper.

Washed it down with a local dark beer.

This all came to a grand total of fifty dollars plus the tip. :D

I've mentioned this place before as it's our favorite go to place.
Not cheap, but reasonable prices, and great food. The town is less than 200 people, way
out in the country, and has all that country charm. Former Vikings great Paul Krause has his
man cave across the street in an old farm store and gas station that he owns. He throws free
music concerts in the summer. A nice guy.

In two weeks they will have an all you can eat smelt fry for three consecutive Wednesday nights.
We go every year at least once. They come fresh out of Lake Superior. Not everyone likes them, but we do.
We have stood in line to get in and then find they just ran out, but the Ettlin family took care of us
allowing us to order anything off the menu for the price of the smelt. Did I mention Lobster? :D
And then they magically found us some smelt to go along with it.

We've been eating there for well over twenty years and it's nice to be known by name.
Feels like family. :D

that would be great but the closest we come to Webster is Marshall where we have our truck worked on at Harrison Freightliner .... understandably, we hope not to have it worked on any more than is absolutely necessary .... ;)

I love Smelt!
When I lived in the Chicago area, it was popular to go smelting off the shore of Lake Michigan.
We have a small Cajun resteraunt here in town, so last night we ordered from them. I had a fried Gator bites plate with baked Mac and Cheese. Carol had a fried oyster Po-Boy. Good stuff!

Anything served with boiled cabbage is great. Actually boiled cabbage with butter, salt and pepper. I can make a meal out of that.

Tonight we're doing pizza - thin crust. :D

I love boiled cabbage too. I also put it into my home made vegetable soup. :D
Soon will be St. Patty's day and my Irish wife will make corned beef and cabbage. Love it.
She has a brisket already in the frig and she will make her own corned beef.

Tonight was Braunschwager sandwich with Miracle Whip, Mustard and an onion and her home made
bean with ham soup. :D

Had a few bread and butter pickles on the side. :D

Teriyaki pork tenderloin, fried rice, garlic bread, corn, iced tea!

Personally the only thing I think smelt is good for is bait for walleye fishing
