Picked these two up at a local NASCAR collectable shop today. 1:24 scale diecast, 2005 #8 Martin Truex Jr. Chevrolet Monte Carlo Busch pole winner, Indy raced win
version with the oil splatter on the hood, side and rear bumper, and a 1:64 scale diecast #22 Joey Lagono 2017 Ford Fusion, Shell-Pennzoil color scheme. This has always been one of my favorite color schemes even on the Indy cars.

Re: Show us your diecast stuff
My neighbor gave me this beautiful 1:18 scale Dale Earnhardt 1991 Chevy Lumina diecast today. He purchased it years ago and it was new in the box, never opened. It is by Ertl. He would not take anything for it, so since he spent 25 years in the Marine Corps, and was an E9 when he retired, I gave him one of my U.S. Marine Corps diecast model Abrams Tanks.

My NASCAR, plus one police car, collection to date, minus some old 1:64 scale cars that are too numerous to display, plus I am running out of room.

That's a beautiful fire truck, I always liked the lime green color. I tried to read where it was from, but even with a magnifying glass I couldn't make it out. What is the logo on the door?

Dutch, it's from Palm Beach Gardens Fire Dept. I just got it from Ebay. It was ridiculously priced directly from China. The seller communicated very well and it arrived very quickly. I think it was from a run of rejects. Look at where the tires meet the rim. For what I paid, I can over look that, lol.

Re: Show us your diecast stuff
Okay you two, You went and made me stop in to the Lionel store just up the road.
They have some beautiful stuff in there.
I managed to get out of there with only one 1:24 scale car.
I liked the paint scheme and the sponsor. And I think this young driver has a pretty bright future.

Re: Show us your diecast stuff
I've never heard of him, but I have heard of the sponsor. It is a really nice car. I'm glad I was able to help you part with your money to join in here.
I like the car. I had to travel an hour and a half to find diecast in a hobby store. What is a Lionel store RSb?

Re: Show us your diecast stuff
You probably know that Lionel makes model trains. But they also make die cast cars for NASCAR and the NHRA. They are very well detailed and have different grades. The most detailed is Elite class. Mine is one grade down at platinum it is much nicer than the other cars I have from Winners Circle and Action. Many of the parts are individual pieces not just molded into a piece of the frame. On this one the drivers side window net is an actual nylon net not a plastic molded one.daytime dave wrote:I've never heard of him, but I have heard of the sponsor. It is a really nice car. This store is also the company's new headquarters they bought a race shop that used to belong to Darryl Waltrip.
The driver is Richard Childress' grandson. Of course that got him a foot in the door but he has earned his way by being an good driver. His Brother Austin drives the # 3 car for Childress. Their dad is Mike Dillon and he was a pretty good driver in his day.

Re: Show us your diecast stuff
I had no idea Lionel was into that. That's very cool about the headquarters store too. My diecast interest goes another direction. That's as cool a car as Dutch collects. Very cool indeed.

Re: Show us your diecast stuff
I adddd another one to the collection. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is retiring this season so I wanted to pick up one of his cars. This one is an Elite grade car so it is made up of more than 260 parts. The really put some detail into these.

Wow, that is nicely detailed. I had heard he was retiring. Good idea to get it now.
