North America has a surplus of oil and natural gas. We import very little from the mid-east, so supply is not a problem. But, the price for domestic oil is the same as the price for global oil, which is experiencing a rapidly increasing fuel shortage. It's all about the Benjamins, even for our most patriotic billionaires; we shouldn't expect them to leave money on the table because they're fellow citizens. They're capitalists, too.

Good thing we have really smart people, the best people, managing everything for the rest of us. I'm not concerned.

Smart although some of that higher cost is recovered with better mileage.

Well over $4 here in Deer Park. It’s usually a few cents cheaper in Spokane. Today I’m making a trip to Idaho and it will be interesting to compare the prices. There are the same brand of stations (Maverick) in both locations so it’s a good apples to apples comparison. Or, in the case of Washington to Idaho, apples to potatoes. (Sorry, couldn’t resist)

Bought gas yesterday in Idaho. Local price is/was $4.49 and the price in Idaho was 3.55. Nice savings but still way too expensive.

Will be filling up the Miata with pure gas and I bet premium will be well over $5. Glad I don't drive much anymore.

Bought propane Friday and at least it hasn't gone up, $3.50 a gallon which is what it has been all Winter.

Saw diesel was $6.09 in Deer Park yesterday. Cheaper in Spokane but not much. Happy my only diesel is my tractor that sips fuel so no concern for me but I sure feel bad for those who drive one and a regular basis.

I get off-road for mine and it’s even cheaper.

Same here, the feed store in Deer Park has off road diesel without the highway tax on it. It’s dyed red to help prevent folks from filling up their on road trucks. One pump has a nozzle that’s probably 1.5” in diameter as some of the local farmers drive their equipment to the pumps and need the high volume flow to fill the large tanks.

Gassed up in Idaho yesterday and the Washington price was $4.79 and the Idaho price was $3.79. Last week the difference was .94 now $1.00.

Those big high-volume nozzles really help when you are pumping a couple hundred gallons. Most truck stops have a pump on both sides feeding from one meter.

Haven't gone to town yet today but yesterday here in WA regular gas was $5.18. I paid $5.80 last week for 92 pure gas, I'll bet it's close to $7 today. Miata might be going back to gasohol for awhile.
