Re: The Adult Evening Beverage
Just got back from the Hollywood Casino in Charles Town West Virginia. Left around 1:00, it's an hour drive to get there. We played the slots for a while and had supper about 5:00 and then played again until 7:00. Neither of us won any money but we didn't lose that much either. Win some, lose some. But the drive home back up interstate 81 was the pits. Raining and with all the trucks and cars passing it was a "white knuckle " ride all the way home. There was an accident with a tractor trailer jackknifed in the southbound lane that had traffic backed up for approximately 15 miles. I felt sorry for those people. People around here call that interstate a death trap. It lives up to it's name quite frequently. I am not as good as I was years ago driving at night and the rain on the interstate just makes it worse. I was sure happy when I got home and could grab a beer.

I just mixed a perfect pitcher of Manhattans. Hey, I think I can see NYC's skyline.
Just kidding. I hope you had a good day. I raise my glass and salute you.

Not too much happening today, just watched the NASCAR race, waiting on the snowstorm.
Re: The Adult Evening Beverage
I recently bought a 12 pack of Coors. Not Coors Light, Coors Original Banquet. Only reason I bought it was because it was only $9.99 and I was feeling thrifty. Next time I will spend the few extra bucks on some decent craft beer. This stuff is not my style!

Bout to sip a little crown myself. The other comment was about the sideways pics. I'll preview before post from here out but it's a glitch in the sites program. And it's above my paygrade.
Re: The Adult Evening Beverage
I have not ever been tough enough to drink a martini. My dad use to drink them like water. You must must be way tough Dave. Olive or pearl onion on the toothpick? I use to steal the pearl onions when I was a kid they were good. Aldaytime dave wrote:I have some Crown, I prefer Harwood or Canadian Club.

Re: The Adult Evening Beverage
I haven't had a drink for a while. Not that I ever was addicted to the stuff, but I do like a Scotch once in a while. I learned to acquire a taste for it a long time ago on a hot night in Cuba, back in 1968 when I was a guest of the U.S. Navy. We would drink Scotch and listen to country music on our 33 1/3 record player. "Guantanamera", the ceiling fans and all that went with it. The Navy is where I should have spent my career, but that is another story. At the time, four years with the Navy seemed like enough. A buddy of mine introduced me to a brand of Scotch called Black and White. We had it in our locker in the barracks. We did not abuse the privilege so we were good to go. So, tonight I will have a double shot on the rocks. Dewars may not be the best Scotch, but it will make do. If I have a few extra bucks I really like Johnny Walker Black Label. And as you can see, it is soon time to make a trip to the liquor store, as this bottle is just about done.

Al, I have been known to drink them like your father. The answer to your question is olive. Often on a toothpick. The onions are an acquired taste that I have not acquired yet.
I have a drinking habit akin to Ernest Hemingway's I'm told. I like martinis and Scotch. Those were his drinks of choice too. Not bad company to be in I figure.
Tonight, I'm going to have a Canadian whiskey, Canadian Club, and then if I'm still into it, a Manhattan.
Enjoy your night all. Tell us about your day!
