happy to say they finished repairing the camper's 2" receiver .... the only thing that remains to be done is to get under there and spray paint the heck out of it .... don't know when that will be, gladly no rain on tap .... we do hope to get back to making the rest of the bedroom curtains and order the material for the windows in the rest of the camper

yesterday our camper's 7-wire plug underwent a life changing event .... it was replaced earlier today and is now hanging in its storage receptacle awaiting our departure to South Dakota

this morning's project is to install newly sewn curtains and reinstall the cornices on all of the camper's bedroom windows .... the first will tell if I can use existing hardware or will have to go and purchase wall anchors

I guess adventure could well apply to today's project .... the replacement of all four, sixteen year old, OEM bedroom/bathroom window curtains is complete .... 10 living area curtains to go .... doing so took over 4 hours .... lets just say, much was learned and the last one took 15 - 20 minutes .... material and hardware for the remaining windows should arrive over the next few days .... hopefully, by a week from today we should have a good bit done .... pictures below show the OEM curtain/shade and the replacements .... the colors in the new curtains look better in person than shows up in the pictures

following one heck of a day's work on a plumbing leak we can only hope it is fixed .... much of the underbelly cover has been lower and a small leak in a 3" pipe joint .... I'm just not sure that the stream of water I saw when breaking camp on our last outing .... with a tiny hole in an unpressurized pipe, I hope FlexSeal will take care of it .... we plan to leave it as is until Wednesday afternoon .... at that time we will check it and hopefully reinstall the underbelly cover

plumbing repairs not going smoothly .... we should know more after the FlexSeal drys .... all supplies needed to complete our curtain project have arrived .... we hope to get a good start today on replacing the ones in the living/kitchen area

Was the flex seal the only choice for repair Jim.

no .... BUT it was the only viable alternative .... the other would require cutting and reinstalling not just the 3" pipe but possibly a holding tank as well .... when I say its a tiny leak, it really is .... hopefully what we've done will work

the curtain replacement is going well .... the cornice sits on two brackets that are mounted to the wall .... they weren't designed or built to be easily removed .... the best way I've found to get to the brackets is to cut the OEM day/night shades right below the cornice .... you can then get a #2 square head screwdriver to the screws .... when I started this project I wanted to use 3/4" wood dowels on the spans that are 36 or fewer inches wide .... for the longer spans we went with 3/4" PVC pipe which is much cheaper than wood .... one such application is shown below .... the center rod holder provides plenty of support and keeps the pipe surprisingly rigid ....

Self Adhesive Curtain Rod Bracket Holder ===> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08VJ ... UTF8&psc=1 .... as can be seen in the pictures above, I do drill the base of the bracket, peel the cover off of the adhesive base and stick the bracket in place .... then use screws to make sure it stays there

Staying there is important in a portable house especially after travels on our smooth roads.

just got the word that our daughter and 5 year old grandson are booked to fly out to join us in South Dakota on June 19th and stay with us for a week .... her tickets were bought last year but Covid prevented the trip ... we will pick them up at the Sioux Falls airport and should be back in Estelline around noon .... the Estelline Rodeo is that weekend ===> http://www.estellinerodeo.com/index.html .... our youngest son and his wife will be driving out and should get there on the 18th, their son (our oldest grandson) will ride out there with us
