What size tin? A tin of 250 seems to start at about that and go up from there.BigAl52 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 9:29 pmWent to a gun show today. I saw #11 percussion caps for 25.00 a tin. I separated out 65lbs of 40 sw brass. I ended up with 63lbs of 40sw and an additional 2lbs of 357 sig brass.
Next up is cleaning the brass in batches. From there, I'll need to anneal it in batches for swaging into jacket blanks for .452 JSP's.

I've got a couple hundred .38 Spl's to load with RCBS 148 WC's over 3.3 grains of 231. Too lazy to readjust the Square Deal dies from .357 to .38 so I just lubed up the ancient 4 station C&H press that is all set to go for that load.

I ended up loading a 3rd ladder to the sierra 155 JSP pro hunters and a few more sight in rounds.
I do not like the winchester brass. It's the most finicky and wonky brass I've ever had the displeasure of working with. All the once-fired federal was gtg, but the Winchester stuff, new and once fired, was bunk.

I haven't noticed that. But then all my brass is a few years old.DsGrouse wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 8:45 amI ended up loading a 3rd ladder to the sierra 155 JSP pro hunters and a few more sight in rounds.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Loaded 50 rounds of blue bullets 220 grain spire points in 300 black out. This is a new bullet for me. I started my ladder test at 9.6 grains of 1680 and worked up to 10.4. I'll have to see how they shoot later this week.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Which is the most accurate?
And at what distance were you shooting?, if checking accuracy at the same time.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
The node at 10.2 was the most accurate one. It's not likely I will keep that one. I want to push these up to 1050-1072. I'm hoping there is a node there.
Seven of the same shots in a large hole, 3 fliers. mostly me. distance 70 yds.
Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Second batch.
10.6 to 11.4 grains of powder.

I went and added all my Chrono averages to my GRT files. I tuned the initial pressures to bring the velocities within spec. That told me to get a FPS around 1050-1075, I would need to make a couple of further steps. So, I made two additional rows to test.
11.6 and 11.8 grains of powder.

The GRT model is showing max pressure of 22.28k with a 11.8 load

I cranked out a few .45 ACP's on the Hornady AP. It came out of the box badly out of time but after the dreaded reading of instructions
she's running like a watch now. As you can see....my lair is getting a leetle bit crowded.
