Just an aside about the 22 Hornet. I believe that Hercules 2400 powder was developed for that cartridge. And yes in those days it was Hercules Powder Company.

Yep and fairly sure the 2400 was a reference to velocity.
I have owned and played with a few hornets and they all shot acceptable well. If you reload then nosler do a 34gr FBHP that everyone I know that has tried them swears is the best hornet projectile available.
