By the looks of the survey, we should be able to get the seniors rates on new Henry's.

Re: Age Survey: How old are you?
My dad was a NYC cop, and we owned a big house, but there was no money for a refrigerator and he wouldn't put it on the mortgage, (pay 30yrs), so we had an ice box. How different his values were back than when compared to today. Today you rent, and fill your apartment with junk. He owned, and wouldn't even finance a refrigerator.
So i remember the "ice man" with the big block of ice..................

Old enough to remember Dad driving 6-7 miles to my uncles house on Saturday nights, filling 3 milk cans with water, then watch "GUN SMOKE" on tv, ride back home and listen to the same "GUN SMOKE" episode on radio; unload milk cans (at least Dad did) 'bout all we could do was use the dipper once the water was in the house.....surely ya'll remember the dipper.....and there was always the path to the outhouse! By the way only I'm only 67

Model T from left to right clutch, reverse, brake plus the handbrake lever clutch neutralizer. The choke wire loop coming out of radiator next to the crank. What as the last year Ford V/8 with a crank slot in the front grill?

OH this cracked me up. I remember that. Especially on Saturday mornings waiting on cartoons.

62 - too old for buckhorn sights, but still young enough to turn the flywheel and start the old 1936 John Deere "A".....

And another couple of minutes for the little white dot to disappear when you turned it off.Sir Henry wrote:I can remember when it took 5 minutes for the TV to come on.
Perhaps we should be allowed to rent them by the month, instead of buying 'em!RanchRoper wrote:By the looks of the survey, we should be able to get the seniors rates on new Henry's.

Soda pop sure tasted better in returnable bottle
A local Sparkle Market kept the empties outside.

I can remember walking the secondary highways looking for bottles in the ditches. As a ten year old that was my main source of income.DWD445 wrote:Sofa pop sure tasted better in returnable bottle

I grew up in the 40's, 50's. Then the 60's and the Nam War and our Country changed and not for the good, at least not in my mind. Now from what I am seeing, I have worries and doubts about the kind of lives my kids, grandkids, and great grandkids will have.

When I was a kid Sunday nights were Walt Disney show and then Bonanza. During the week I would get to stay up late (10pm) to watch Rawhide. Saturday mornings were 3 Stooges, Roy Rogers, Lassie and Sky King.

I think things are looking up for our country lately.

Re: Age Survey: How old are you?
I'll be 59 in May, but my years in the Corps count double, so I'm really 72.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.
