I use Petra Grease on my slide rails and locking blocks, lasts longer than any oil I've tried. How large is the Cherry Balmz container, don't see it on the site. Petra Grease is not that cheap. I wonder if either one is that much better than any good high temp/high pressure grease. $10 for 14 oz. on Amazon.

 I meant how many ounces in the bottle. Tetra grease is $10 for a 1oz tube on Amazon.

.5 oz.

I bought a tube of Tetra for $5.99 locally yesterday.

That is expensive. I'll stick with Tetra, I bought some at Sportsman Warehouse last year but didn't remember what I paid for it.

There's so many different gun lubricants and cleaners out there you could use something new every time you cleaned/lubricated for a long time.

Yep - I squeezed some of the Tetra out and it is very similar to the Cherry Balmz.

I'm sure it will be just as good - and for a lot less!

A couple of years ago I switched away from all gun oils.
I am now using two products that combined cover all of my firearms lubrication needs, and at a very reasonable price.
On the areas that want oil I use Permatex engine assembly lube.
It's heavier than most oils, so it stays in place and doesn't make a mess.
On areas that want more lubrication I use Lubri-Plate engine assembly grease.
I think it is a white lithium base, but I'm not sure.

Between these two, all my guns stay properly lubricated, they don't drip or run excess oils, they seem easier to clean, and neither has stiffened up in cold weather.
You can purchase both at AutoZone, and the bottles last forever.

Interesting video about not over-lubricating firearms. This is the short version, there is also a longer HD version.

I field stripped my Henry H010 last night, for the first time. Cleaned & re-lubed with Super Lube 100% syn. grease. Smooth as a
babys' bottom.
I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Rem oil on all weapons. I have never had a lube problem. Ever.
My late Dad, the Marine taught us to clean after every outing. I guess I could use bacon grease as often as I clean my weapons.
In the Military we/they used CLP. I still use it to clean, but I put Rem oil on all parts that mesh/slide together.

I use 3&1 oil for my wife's sewing machine, and door hinges 👍😉
