Retirees breakfast this AM and then we journey to Rochester and the Mayo
Clinic to have some skin cancer looked at. My GP referred me as he wants
it looked at.

73 with a RealFeel of 86 at 8AM .... forecasted high a muggy, muggy 91 with a RealFeel of 105 later this afternoon with "a heavy thunderstorm late this afternoon; storms can bring flash flooding and damaging winds" .... in our area "flash flooding" warnings have earned a much higher level of concern .... an overnight low of 74 is predicted .... first up this morning we both have dental appointments .... Maureen for a cleaning and checkup ..... the same for me with the addition of having a tooth crowned .... not looking forward to that

Woke up to a stupid hot 67 at 6:00 this morning. A rare overnight low as it’s usually much lower. High today of 92 which is better than yesterday’s 99. Sadly we have big winds coming in today thru tomorrow with gusts for me 50+ and gusts for dave77 at 60+. With two big fires burning already here locally (I think Dave has a fire too) these winds could cause a disaster. Both local fires are having community meetings today which I expect will inform them to be prepared for expanded evacuation areas.

I’m planning on staying home today and tomorrow just in case we have a problem here and need to evacuate. Thankfully that would have to be a new fire as the two local fires will not get here.

I would usually go to the Vet's coffee and doughnuts this morning but the Mayo Clinic
really did a job on my face yesterday and I think I'll pass. They removed a lot of skin cancer
and did a biopsy on others. I look pretty bad.

I hope the biospsies all come back clear. You won't want to deal with the cancer long term. I have a rare form that so far has been uncurable. Cancer creams and radiation make it angry and aggressive. It shrugs off effects of freeze spray and after Mohs surgery just comes back elsewhere. Right now I'm going through rounds of immunotherapy. So far not enough into that to know if it is having any effect. I understand most people get through the cancer and have good clear skin after a while of healing. I hope that for you.

Sorry to read this, Mags. I hope this new therapy works for you and others. Nearly everyone in the world knows someone affected by cancer. I make a monthly contribution to a cancer research hospital. It's gonna take science to end it. Good luck to you.

I've heard nothing but GOOD about the Mayo clinic. You are in good hands with them. I'm with Providence.

Ya, the tired thing is very common according to my Dr. For me it's 'tired with a food coma' like feeling. An afternoon nap helps. I go in every 21 days. I usually feel fine for 2-3 days if I don't do too much. Then there is a week to 10 days of just being flat out wasted. Then I'm more or less fine until the next infusion day and 2-3 days beyond. Repeat. Even on good days, if I push too hard I hit a wall. Most of my pre-cancerous stuff has seemingly cleared up. The trouble spots I haven't noticed much improvement yet. It's still early in the regimen so I'm hopeful.

Best to you Mags, sounds like a pretty miserable treatment plan but we do what it takes.

A nice cool down yesterday with the highs only in the 70’s leading to a nice 53 this morning. High today is 85 with 90’s beyond thru the weekend. We’re planning on heading up to the camping spot we Ike on Lake Roosevelt next week and the forecast is for the low 80’s. That’s just about perfect for hitting the beach yet not having the camper get too hot.

Heading out this morning for my wife’s tests at the imaging place and then on to our doc for A1C tests. Might be time for breakfast in between the appointments. Hope so, haven’t been out for breakfast since I can remember.
