If I remember right that was on Monroe. Been there. The shop also had an extensive display of Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars. Bikes, slot carts and toy cars, I was the proverbial kid in the candy store. My buddies and I had several slot cars but unfortunately this store was way across town and not in biking distance. So our trips were limited to when we could convince a parent to drop us off and come back later to pick us up. Great memories and great fun.
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.

Yes there is one in Denver Tom but thats about 60 miles from my house and since I dont care much for Denver at all its not something I would want to do on a regular basis.

Don't blame you there. If you don't need to visit the big city, no real reason to go.BigAl52 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 12:57 pmYes there is one in Denver Tom but thats about 60 miles from my house and since I dont care much for Denver at all its not something I would want to do on a regular basis.

My Father built 2 skill tracks and 2 drag tracks back in the 60s. Had Saturday races with different classes and prizes. Was too busy working to race but I got a lot of track time otherwise.

Good memory, it was on Monroe just south of Indiana. This thread sparked me to look the store up and I found to my surprise it was still open as recently as 2006. Looks like it became more of a craft store in it’s later life. Wish I had paid attention back then and stopped in and asked for a tour of the basement. Fun memories.Sir Henry wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 12:39 pmIf I remember right that was on Monroe. Been there. Wow! That would be interesting to try and gear a car for. Several short straights and one loooong straight. Neat track, tho. Raced again this past weekend on our flat track. Didn't fare too well this week, 6th out of 10. Ouch. Ahh, had fun. I'll get 'em next time.

Still loving that old memory. I see those tracks, and know, I would have stayed with it if the hobby was still readily available....shame.
Keep on keepin on Tom!!!

That big track would be a challenge for sure. Just being able to see all the way around it would be an issue
