For some reason I always thought the record or the cassete would sound much better and you really couldn't get the same quality at a Live Show. However when going to the concerts I went to in the last few years they do sound real good in person but then again the acts the Bands I went to see have had decades of practice. That and I imagine that the sound systems are much improved since the seventies.

That's what they said about the Eagles not that long ago. Then again I may have missed them, we'll see.

By the way there are many groups and individuals that really don't need to, but still do. I think there are different needs other than just money that drives some of them.

I actually meet him in Memphis once.
We were eating in the same restaurant, got to shake his hand.
He was with his manager, we spoke for a minute, and went on about our business.

Sure, and great sound. Just not at the very top of my list.

Yup...American Woman was one of the first "rock" songs I ever heard. Transistor radio in grade 7 or 8...it was on the radio lots. These guys got tons of radio play.

Another good Canadian band was April Wine. Played at my high school a couple of times. And of course Rush. Saw them lots in bars before they were filling arenas.

I Want To Hold Your Hand was the first one I remember.

I remember some of the late 50's and early 60's rock/pop. My brother is 12 years older than me so although I wasn't really into it at the time he was always playing it.

I do remember seeing the Beatles and other early rock bands on Ed Sullivan.

I vaguely remeber Ed Sulivan, I was very young at the time. Most of the music I listen to is from the sixties or seventies, but some from the eighties. Some later but just not as much. I do have the DVD or Blu Ray of the Ed Sulivan Beatle shows but I forget which it is now.
