I think our current Sony is a 50”. I definitely don’t need anything bigger. Our max distance from the screen is around 10’. I’m definitely not a TV snob. We used our 2005 era 37” Sharp Aquos for over 10 years and then my dad and his wife gave us this Sony as it was just their basement den TV that never got used. I think we’ve had it for about 10 years as well, so given it was with them a few years prior, it’s likely 2012 era. I’m sure even the most basic QLED would be a step up.

Here's a story, but it's also true.

My brother died of liver cancer in 2003. In 2004 Carol arranged for us to have Sonograms just for check ups. They called me the next day and said I had a large growth on my liver.

Well, I thought I was going to spend a Winter in chemo and then die just life Dave, and I'll be darned if I'm going spend all that agony time trying to squint at the old TV we had.

I went and bought a new large screen Visio and a Blue Ray player.

A couple week later the Mayo Clinic confirmed that it was just a fat deposit.

Now the guys were wondering if Carol made me return the TV and Blue Ray.

Nope, I'm still enjoying them but it may be time to upgrade.
