Thanks for all your help.

I took it back to my LGS and told him about the situation.

He adjusted the scope (not physically) and said that it would probably shoot high now and that I will need to probably dial it in by lowering the sight.

With the Leupold model I have you can only do one rotation of the dial because it has a zero stop on it. To go more than one rotation you have to take the dial top off.

So hopefully I can make it back out to the range this weekend and get it dialed in…

Well its already been mentioned but I would of thought that if he used a bore sighter when mounting the scope he would have seen that and taken care of that then.

He said that the bore sight was spot on.

On my feedback he raised the zero.

We will see when I get back out with it.

Hmmmmm well anyway I wish you a better outing next time. When you dont reload buying 357 can get pricey.

I had similar issues with my BBS .357. I bought the Tilley one-piece mount, but I ran out of elevation adjustment. My solution ended up being to add a shim under the back end of the mount. 0.014" was the thickness of the aluminum flashing we had in the garage, and it was super easy to lay the mount on it, scribe it with a razor blade and cut it with tin snips. Then set the mount on top of it on the bench and centerpunch the screw holes, then drill them out. The shim can be seen on the rifle if you look real closely, but it gave me enough adjustment that I was able to get it zeroed at 100 yards.
