Waaay too many Restrictions. Especially the No Shooting one. To me the idea of country living is to have freedom. Nice house for sure, but 2 more negatives are the high ceilings (much harder to heat) and no basement (house built on a slab). Also no mention of taxes, a very important thing for consideration.

The propane/electric bill on this one was around $600 in the coldest weather. The one in Great Falls with just as high of ceiling was half that.

I didn’t really like the glitz finish. The home in GF said I have class. This house says I have money. Not my style.

My truck camper would fit nice in that garage but the rest of the house is not our style.

This one is not very delux for a home but would make an ideal base camp.

This one is a little better for the house but not enough outbuildings.

Another choice.

Is shooting allowed on the first and third one?

Have you thought about buying some bare land and building what you want?

Yes if done quietly. What I really want is an indoor pellet range for the long cold winters.

Some places for sale only have a large shop and you live in it til you build a house. I want something that is turnkey.

Looks like a guy would have alot of room on the first one in that shop for an indoor range.

Best of luck. I'm sure you'll find something that suits. :)

Hey All,

Not sure what your looking for but it appears to be big fairly new modern not excessively high dollar for what you get large lot small acreage with city amenities (medical, shopping, etc) close by with city/county services. In Montana to that limits you in a hurry. Have you looked at billings? Have you looked at other states?

Just a thought on that first one you listed yesterday.

Prior to moving in 2016 I lived for the previous 14 years in a location that was all open, no trees. We really grew tired of not having any shade so when we decided to move trees were high on our priority list. I believe it can get pretty warm in the Helena area.

I have to say, the interior is not what I expected when I saw the outside, that’s a pretty incredible home.

Not able to copy the link, and you probably won't leave your region. Just thought I'd throw out one to look at here in my region.
Might enjoy looking at the pics though. Seems to fit your needs, except for the price. Might help in comparing.

Just put in that search and it'll come up.

Your description is close to what I’m looking for. Billing is industrial. Butte is mostly slums. Missoula is liberal. Helena is conservative. Other states are to far. I spent grades one through four in Montana. Even though I’m looking a couple hundred miles away I still identify as just being Montana.

Thanks. It would be too much of a cultural shock for me. I did enjoy looking at it. If anyone else wants to post about homes that would fit my needs in their area please feel free to do so.

Winters are long and that is when the openness is appropriated. In Ephrata is got so cold at night you couldn’t wait for the first rays of sunshine in the morning. Here I don’t see sunshine for two hours after it rises because of vegetation.

This looks promising. In picture 6, I see a shooting bench in the distance above the chimney.

Would you be keeping horses if you get this property? You really only need 1 horse if you get a couple of goats to keep it company.

Looks nice!
Do the trophies go with it?😁
Looks like the current owner has been practicing his golf off the back berm.
