Yep things are poppin all around here. Yesterday a 12 yr. old girl was shot in a nearby county. Upscale neighborhood with the two girls walking towards a neighborhood school and a young guy just shot one of them. I always carry and 45 ACP it be!

I tend to vary my conceal carry although we do have open carry in this state. I usually rotate through my Sig's: P229 in .357 Sig, P229 in 9 mm, P220 in 45 ACP, and P224 in .40 S&W. Occasionally I'll carry one one of my revolvers but not often: GP100 .357, GP 100 .44 spcl., or S&W 14-8. The only time I don't carry a firearm is when I'm asleep or in the shower.

...And this mother of six was on her way to an anniversary getaway with her husband when she was murdered by a road enraged, armed driver...

The police said the couple’s vehicle had come close to another vehicle as Mr. Eberly was trying to merge into a lane.

The driver of the other vehicle proceeded to move to the passenger side of the Eberlys’ car, lowered the window and fired “multiple shots into the passenger door,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

The gunman was believed to have been driving a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu or Impala, according to the authorities.

Self arming is great, but we need stricter laws.

Without getting political, this country is softening them.
Stricter in what sense?
Stricter consequences!
Let's try to leave this one be though. I feel like it is destined to GET political.

Murder isn't political. It's personal. And, the U.S.A. doesn't have any more mental health issues than other countries do. But we do have a lot more people with guns who kill other people or themselves. It's real and it's a national problem and we need to think about it.

I think about it all the time (ever since around 1958) which is one reason why I've owned guns since then, and why I've carried one since 1963. :)

Mark is correct .... this is an emotional topic that is bound to create disagreement along political and/or 2nd Amendment lines .... we can all agree that murder is bad and that there isn't a single, simple answer and leave it there
