I believe it is a Austin ...The spare tire mounded on the trunk lid will give it away . I live near Butler , Pa where it was made in the 30's and seen a few of them in my life . Great find . They used a lot of the Bantam body's in drag racing in Alter class . Don't see them anymore .

SLIGHTLY faster than the yellow one It belongs to a friend of fam. whose wife went to school w/my Mom !!
I had to pull eng.& trans and modify/repair clutch, hook up brake cables & get running. Sadly at 88 He passed, but did get to
drive his American Austin first !! [You believe right tx gn !!] Those are the jobs that give you some satisfaction. His son
still has it and a red delivery truck, that I may get running also, some day. It has a chicken wire roof !!

I built a lot of street races cars in my life and my 2 favorite engines was the 327 Chevy or the 354 Chry Hemi . Remember my 1st love is fast motorcycle and the lady's . I pissed a lot of money away on both .

A Guy down the road, who's cars I have worked on before. Came pushing his hog up the road and in my drive Fri. 1st time I saw it.
After $3500.00 OH engine and a bunch of stuff, he says "it runs worse than before, FIX IT !!!"
71 Shovelhead w/ dual plug heads, 1200cc, small cam & .050" over, S&S carb.
I changed plugs to a hotter range,points & condensor, 5 sizes down on main jet and 1 on intermediate.
He said it NEVER ran this good Took about 2 hrs. and he couldn't get $150.00 out fast enough !!
It did run good for a 1200 !! I was surprised

Nice ride but Points and condenser ... That is like a carrot in front of the nose of a horse . . I switch all HD from dual fire to single fire programmable electric ignition and roller rockers . The S&S is super carb it is the best and so easy to tune in my book . It like a Holley carb for a car . Below is my 100 " S&$ motor which is a 4" bore and 4"' stroke over 100HP and rev easy to 7,000 RPM like a small block Chev . I sold it to my buddy Rooster in Fla and it was built it in 1999 and has over 75,000 on that engine with no rebuild .

You're SO right on ignition, Dyna SKi for mine , it's on his short list. Overall much better than points, but points DO work.
The heads on that bike [forget brand, not S&S], were impressive !! And S&S carb. is MUCH like a Holley, esp you can't take one out of the box and expect it to run good. It has to be tuned/jetted. It still had a 72 main, I went down to a 64.
Just nice to work on something other than the hum drum cars/trucks. And see a guy THRILLED when he left !!
My 77, I think for S&S 93ci, was 4" bore and 3.75" stroke ?? Roller rockers and Andrews "6" cam, 100+hp, geared up a bit, w/4spd will do 65 in first 105 in third ??? in 4th. 130 was fast enough for me, but still pullin hard !!

I love that seat I see you have a kicker . Not all Dyna ign will start as a kicker or push start . Some have a switch to move for kicker mode . Is your single fire or dual fire and is it programmable . Dyna and Crane both make a point replacement ign cheap . Below is a dual fire . Single fire is a little more .

Mine is a single fire, it may be an ultima ?? I can't remember. No "kick mode" that I know of. But warm,1st kick, cold, forget it. Is programmable.
I could kick start it cold w/points, 2-3 kicks. Worth it though !! Only bad thing is if pickup goes bad, you can't take a file and screwdriver and be on the road in 15 min. Your waiting on trailer.

Neighbor w/his 71 Chevy Blazer stopped by today, just got it running after sitting due to some health problems.
This truck is CLEAN, nicer than new !!

I sold this 90 Chev truck after getting the Miata and only had 125,000 miles on it . It was a fuel injection 350 engine with a rare 5 speed trans . Got 17 mpg on trip the way you see it in pic and didn't leak or burn oil when I sold it a few month ago .

It has only snowed here 2X in 6 yrs that I lived here . They use a liquid brim on the overpasses here before they ice up .
I've built race cars and motorcycle since I was 13 yrs old . I got out of the construction in 1968 and when into auto repair and retired in 1993 from auto repairs at age 50 in Az . I'm 73 now and I sill love and own Hot Rods and motorcycles today .

I get plenty of snow and salt in N.E. Oh. !! Most cars I show I have worked on and have been restored or came from out of state.

Was making $24.50hr Flat Rate w/I left Dodge dealer in 09 and started my own shop at home. I was helping Pop on Model T Ford at 8 yrs old, at 12
I tightened rod bearings on a friend of Pop's T. [Poured Babbit bearings, file or shim rod caps to adj], by myself w/ Dad was at work.
Been riding since about 8 w/mini bike, trail 70, Yamaha 125, so on !!
Wife's been in poor health for 10yrs.and can't work, so I'm limited for $$, I do what I can, slowly for now. She had 3 jobs w/we met !!
We went to S.C. and bought a 99 Subaru in Dec. w NO RUST, I rustproofed the crap out of it. Was sold new in Mt. Airy N.C. [Mayberry]

That was GOOD money in the 70's, about the last 10 yrs. I was between 60-70K. Then the Dodge dealer I left last lost the Chrys. franchise in 08.
You may remember Alan Spitzer testified [or whatever] to congress trying to get franchises back. I think they lost 5 or 6 Chrysler dealers then. Still have many other makes, but only 1 or 2 Chrysler left. I DO NOT MISS IT AT ALL !!
