357 loading..

Pardon for butting in. I just got my first Henry and first .357, the steel single shot. I have 2 boxes of the 140 grain leverevolution and a few boxes of .38 Special. In reading here I’ve assumed the 158 gn round is what Henry recommends. Have I misunderstood? Can anyone shed some light on this or link me to a previous post? The manual that came with the gun was for the shotgun and the one they mailed to me didn’t mention the .357 at all let alone recommend a load. Thanks in advance.

Hmm. In single shot, I would think you can load just about any type ammo in it. Well, .357 of course. You should be fine.

Thanks Tom. It takes both .38 and .357. I was hoping to cut down some on experimenting with bullet weights with ammo being in short supply.

Normal - 158 grain semi-jacketed FP
for Grizzly Bears - Buffalo Bore 180 grain Lead Flat Nose or HSM 180 grain semi-jacketed FP
