17 here this morning and that's pretty dang cold for our part of the country .... predicted high today 40 falling back to 19 tonight .... a most welcome warming trend is on the way with highs in the low 70's Thursday and Friday .... in the last few weeks we have gone from being in a ponds low drought to ponds full with more rain on the way ....

30 with a freezing rain falling. My patio and concrete pad in front of the garage are a sheet of ice. Took the dog outside on his leash so he wouldn’t slip on the ice and tear an ACL. (Been there with another dog and it was quite expensive). It’s supposed to warm up this afternoon so hopefully the freezing rain will turn to normal rain and the ice will melt. Mild week ahead with 30’s and rain.

As slick as my place is the roads are probably a mess so I will be staying home today. Probably get out and work on my shop remodel project that has sat idle for a couple of weeks.

How much snow did you end up with Mike? We got +/- 14” up here. No freezing rain thankfully, but it’s going to be 37 and raining this afternoon, with a full week of warm and rain. I’m happy about that. I want my grass back!

Warmed up after the -40's we had, in the low 30's today. Was at the range ringing some steel with the flintlock.

Here's where primitive camping in Alberta gets real in a hurry, tracks are within last 2-3 days. Right through my camp site. Still awake and hungry.

Good morning, and welcome to Monday. Well, it's looking like we going to get out from under this cold weather for a spell.
Was 27 earlier, up to 30 now with a little 4 mph breeze from the SSE, saying we're headed towards the mid 40's later. Heck yea!
But, yea there's a but. The rain is moving in this afternoon and it will hang around till the end of the week.
Oh well, but the highs will be upper 50's and low 60's so there's that.

If there is to be any backyard plinking this week it will definitely be from the porch.

17 when we got up this morning .... it didn't take Maureen's Shih Tzu long to take care of business .... 21 now on its way to 48 .... dry today but a warming trend with thunderstorms in the forecast for most of the rest of this week .... my week starts and ends with a medical appointment, nothing unusual about that

54° and lots of rain. There's not much work to do and I'm having a hard time procrastinating about getting what little there is done. Maybe it's time to retire. I tried to do that back in November but 1) clients keep calling and 2) used instrument tooling costs a lot BUT everyone in the business has it already and those starting out can't afford it. It usually sells for pennies on the dollar. I'm trying to find someone interested in learning the trade that will buy me out with the promise of teaching them the trade. So far, I've no takers. I'm looking at some property in the Hill Country but I've not got the wife convinced to move. Here's a link to one that I call the "party barn" property in San Saba County.

35 currently with a high of 43 expected. Overecast with no wind. We had a pretty good freezing rain storm Saturday night and yesterday the concrete around my house was very slick. Today it’s mostly melted which makes it much better for the dog. Mild temps for the week with on and off rain but maybe some sun by the end of the week. Hope so.

Worked on my shop remodel project some this weekend. Went to Home Depot and picked up a new tool chest to replace the old beat up Craftsman I got from my wife’s uncle when he passed. Here’s a pic of the bench and tool chest. I will remove the casters from the chest and slide it under the bench. Hope to do that today if I feel up to it. Had a bad night with excessive chills and shivering. Had plenty of covers so no idea why this happened. Took a Covid test and I’m negative.

Here’s the bench and the tool box waiting to be finished up.
