Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It was 71° on the dog walk this morning and its 71°now. I think most of the rain has come and (almost) gone. It should be dry and a bit cooler for the next few days. Merry Christmas to all!

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Cool and breezy Christmas morning here in SE Texas. It's 46 degrees with a fairly strong wind from the northwest. We'll have clear skies for the next few days and bit cooler temperatures than last week. The high temps will only be in the upper 50's and low 60's.

26 heading to 37 and possible sunny skies today. No fog so Rudolf won’t need his landing lights to drop off that new Henry to me.
Son and DIL are coming over for a prime rib dinner. He introduced me to old fashioneds (the drink) on Thanksgiving so we will enjoy a few of those too.
Pic from last year, very little snow out there this year.

Whiskey Sours are a favorite in our house. Very similar to an OF. Dangerous though, as they go down sooooo easy!

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Those pics took a while to load but now that they did, I'm jealous. When I lived in California everyone said that I would miss the seasons and my reply was that I would have no problem decorating a palm tree.
Enjoy your time down there on the third coast!

I'm waiting to see what Ruger/Marlin has on the horizon. Hopefully a 41mag with a proper loading hole. On the side where it should be.
But, for those that desire one, good luck.
Merry Christmas

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I bought this barometer a couple months ago and have been trying to set it.
At first I used my digital barometer but it just didn’t seem to be right.
So I tried online and still it wasn’t right.
So I dug out my mountaineering altimeter that I’ve used for the last 45 years. It seemed right yet was way off from the online and home digital.
Then I read up on it and discovered all readings except my mountaineering altimeter was adjusted for sea level. I never knew that. You use a mountaineering barometer different because you want to know elevation. Say I’m at Camp Muir on Rainier and I know I’m at 10,040 feet so I set it at that. I can tell where I am heading for the summit because generally it won’t change that fast. I have set it at Muir only to discover I’m 200 feet higher a day later. Of course I’m not higher it just means a storm is on the way.
