Our Morning Coffee and Weather

A pleasant but cloudy 52 to start my day. Clouds are moving out so some sun breaks are happening. Today is supposed to be a bit stormy with possible rain and scattered thunderstorms.

Got my boat on Craigslist yesterday and headed to the golf course. Didn’t even finish the first hole and had a very interested lady call. So I agreed to meet her and thankfully I was on the local course so was able to get home quickly. She wanted a test ride so went to a close by lake. All went well and she wants to buy the boat. She gave me a deposit but can’t do her banking until next Friday as she is an Alzheimer’s care provider and has to do 24 hour shifts Tue-Thur. All in all she’s a bit flakey so even with the deposit I’m not feeling great with the deal.

No more boats Hatch? Is this the one you just bought last year?

Still have the fishing boat. We bought this open bow after taking the grandson tubing with the fishing boat. That worked out “ok” but not as well as a glass boat. Also we wanted to beach the boat and the fishing boat has a painted aluminum hull that would scratch up pretty bad. Oh well, everything is a compromise right?

Beautiful morning here, watched the sun come up from the patio. 53 now with a high of 80 expected. Then a cool down with highs in the mid 70’s. Working on my brush mowing so that will be my focus today.

Warmer and muggy today. The humidity is back. I sure enjoyed Saturday and Sunday. Right now it's 80° and partly sunny. Rain is in the forecast for midafternoon. I just had cereal and coffee for breakfast. I have absolutely nothing planned for the day!

I'm looking foreword to casually consuming coffee and cookies after yesterday.
Our Memorial Day went well but busy. The weather was perfect and our VFW had
large crowds everywhere we went. Then when I got home the family was here and
we had swimming, good conversation, laughing, and burghers on the Blackstone.
This morning I'm tired.

Sunny and 70° this morning with showers predicted for this afternoon. We hear a few rumbles yesterday but no rain. I just had cereal and coffee this morning. A fairly busy day is ahead as I've taken on an apprentice. I've done that before and it usually doesn't work out because they have no patience to stick with it long enough to be productive. We'll see if this young man is different.

Woke up to another pleasant 52 degrees and watched the sun rise from the patio. High today is 78 which is down right perfect if I say so. Tomorrow we travel about three hours south to pick up our motorhome. It’s one of the warmest places in the state and thankfully the high there is around 80. The day we bought it it was 96.

So today I’ll be prepping the trailer to make the trip for the trade in. Plus some running around to the bank and stopping in to a couple of auto stereo shops to look at adding a larger screen with satellite radio and navigation. The radio/screen in it does not have either of these features. The smaller unit we looked at had both from the factory. Too bad Forester didn’t put that screen in the one we bought.

Was 65 this morning currently 76. Putting rafters on Sandies new back deck, she said " Not bad for a left-handed Finnish carpenter " not to be confused with a finish carpenter. My Mommas a full blood Finn (don't make her mad) Anyway that's all I got today..

Yes I still miss Seattle but my aim is getting better!

Seriously I do miss the mountains and wilderness. The people not so much. I’m very active here with the neighbors and will go someplace, have dinner and cards at their homes or mine about five times a week. Sometimes it’s every day of the week.

I have made closer friends here because I agree with them about guns, religion and politics instead of having to tolerate them.

76 and muggy this morning. The humidity drops during the day but right now standing at 87%. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee. I've got some work to do today. The new "apprentice" has a lot of desire to learn but doesn't have many mechanical skills. He's very awkward at even turning a screwdriver. I guess if he has the ambition he'll learn. He's only coming over two time/week so it's going to take a while.

That more or less mirrors my move from Vancouver to north of Spokane. People here are amazing, and neighbors take the time to get to know one another, help each other out, and socialize. I could walk past my neighbors on the street at the coast and have no idea who they were, aside from one friend I met at the local park walking his GWP. We hunted birds together a bunch, with his dogs and my Weims, but he has now moved to Catscratchewan, north of North Dakota.

When I lived in Northern Virginia all the neighbors were friends. We had block parties
and looked after each others families.
Ever hear of "Minnesota Nice"? That means that they're nice to your face, but it takes a long
time to be friends. I've been in this house for forty years and have never made the friends
like I had in Virginia. I'm used to it.
