What's for supper?

We had home made Italian beef sandwiches. Occasionally we try to duplicate what was a favorite when I lived in the Chicago area. Crock pot beef with Peperoncini and served on a hoagie roll witth hot giardiniera.
Very good!

Now that’s a treat I haven’t had in close to 30 years. I had to travel to Chicago for business and always stopped for an Italian Beef sandwich. That was the only thing I enjoyed about traveling there.

Had some of my home made chili last night. Really good.
Today I am boiling a soup bone and this afternoon will make some
of my vegetable beef soup. Beef, onions, peppers, celery, garlic, tomato sauce, paste, crushed, and the secret ingredient, cabbage.
I usually put potatoes in, but with this diet they are a no no.

I live the Italian beef sandwiches. When we used to go to Chicago we would go to Portillo's as soon as we got there and have some.
Really good wet and with the hot peppers. Haven't been down there in a while.

I'm fixin to start up my prize winning home made spaghetti with meat sauce. It's forcasted to be sunny but cold today. There is really no written receipe.

I just make it up the way I feel. It always has at least 50% game meat with either hamburger or feral pig sausage. Plenty of garlic, oregano, thyme, and basil. A few red pepper flakes if deemed. Cook in slow cooker all day and dish up hot over noodles a loaf of garlic bread on the side. Have a nice day.

I let the bones and meat simmer all morning and now I have cut the meat from the bones, removed the bones
and everything is in the pot including a jalapeno.
Now I will let it simmer and meld. After while I will shut it down and let it cool. Then we can heat up
what we want tonight, and freeze the rest.

Before I met Carol I was single for 17 years raising my two boys and one one daughter. I loved to cook but
now Carol does most of it, but once in a while she lets me back into the kitchen. I use the old pots I've had for
years as that's what I'm used to.

Pretty cold here today so I'm making some chicken pot pie soup, thick soup with lots of chicken & veggies topped with pie crust, it's a real comfort food warms you up

My last nite in the Smoky mountains, for supper. I went to Cracker Barrel, one of my favs. Had country fried steak, hashbrown casserole. pinto beans, cornbread, water.
Good stuff, and I'm stuffed

When we're RVing Cracker Barrel is out port in the storm. Have you tried their fried chicken? Pretty darn good.
I also like their meat loaf.

A lean grass fed angus tenderloin barbecued on high to sear the sides to keep the lean meat juicy.

Another Asian dinner my wife cooked up. Probably can't pronounce it, but, damn good! Diced up pork chops, yellow bell pepper, onions, carrots, garlic, califlower and some sort of noodle. Friggin' excellent! Now, another lazy, rainy day. Something on TV.
