Coffee good more preping for the fridged artic blast the weathermem say is pilin in here thursday.... oh well...weathwrmen are far from perfect... but before them such events would just show up and double ouch that would be i suppose...

I’ll be getting home tomorrow to -13F and a foot of new snow to go with the foot that is already on the ground. Maybe moving to Wisconsin wasn’t such a good idea. Florida sure was nice.

The trip to Texas has been delayed from December 26th to mid February. Can’t wait to get some snowshoeing in.

All frozen hell is about to cut lose for the next few days. A foot of new snow and the gale force winds.

43 and partly cloudy, actually got below freezing to 27 last few nights with clear skies, I wrapped the outside faucets just incase.

It was 49° this morning on the dog walk. They got me up an hour early this morning at around 5:15 a.m. It was still very dark, damp, but not so cold. I just had cereal for breakfast this morning along with my coffee. I've got one client over today from Hawaii. He's here visiting relatives and wanted to bring his instruments by for some maintenance and tweaking while he was in town. He claims there isn't any reputable repair techs on his island. We'll see how it goes.

Currently 14 with a light snow falling. Today we expect a high of 17 and 2-7” of snow. My place should be on the low end of that range as the bigger snowfall will be northeast of me. So far the big chill has not happened, last two nights we have had forecasts of zero but instead we are waking up to the mid teens or so. Not complaining. I see that the mid part of the country is going to get hard with a big freeze. Saw windchills to -7 in north Texas. Sure hope the Texas grid doesn’t have a repeat of a couple of years ago as ShakeyJake commented on. Like Coop, we have lots of food and firewood and gas for the generator should the need arise. Of course we aren’t expecting the blizzard conditions he mentioned, thank you!

Like Coop, we have lots of food and firewood and gas for the generator should the need arise. Of course we aren’t expecting the blizzard conditions he mentioned, thank you!

We have the Generac and the propane guy was here this morning and topped off our thousand gallon tank, which feeds the
Furnace, water heater, cook stove, and coincidentally, the Generac. I also have another five hundred gallons up at my shop.
Along with a heat o later fireplace, and an old wood furnace which I rarely use, I think we'll weather the storm OK.
Plenty of groceries and alcohol as well.

its just after noon and the temp has only gotten up to 37 with today's high predicted to be 45 .... we've already hauled off our trash and next up, for me, is to donate blood .... not one of my favorite things but for me its something I need to do

We got down to 12 last night, it's 19 right now at 12:30. Got around 3 inches of powder snow so far and it's supposed to keep snowing until this evening. I hope the forecasters are wrong about the -9 low prediction for Wed night. At least it's not going to last and will be warming up quite a bit by Saturday.

Not sure if the goats used their heat lamp last night, they were both standing out in the snow waiting for their pellets this morning. Snowfall doesn't seem to bother them but they sure hate the rain, just a light drizzle and they head for the barn.

One more warm day before the cold weather hits tommorow afternoon... at least its only a three day pronlem before some seadonal temps creep back our way. I shall coffee up, endevour to perserver, and be pleased i have a warm little house and am not a critter out in the field... traditionally we start looking for deer antler sheds about christmas.. so perhaps on the muzzleloader hunt i will find an early drop....

Snow, mainly after 9am. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 3. Wind chill values as low as -15.
Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
Here we go. The snow continues until we have ten or more inches and then the wind whips up the next
few days to blizzard conditions.

those of us who live north of the equator will experience the shortest day of the year, known as the winter solstice .... this year, it falls on Wednesday 21 December, the first day of winter.... 32 this morning, only supposed to get up to 47 .... sounds like really cold temps are on their way for Christmas .... first up today, garage door repair .... with heavy rain due to move in for tomorrow, our second thing on tap is to move our camper 3 miles to one of our son's home where we plan to spend Christmas

-15F and calm before the expected blizzard. The front door has several feet of snow blown up against it before I dig the past snow away.
