interesting morning .... from a "wellness" standpoint, this hasn't been one of my better trips .... as usual, one thing seems to lead to another .... twisted my good knee July 3rd .... its taken over a month to get to where a steady application of ice, Biofreeze and over the counter pain meds isn't needed .... a negative side effect of the pain killers has been the inability to get far from the toilet .... I make it a practice to keep a Zithromax Z-Pak of antibiotics on hand .... the antibiotics have drastically decreased the but not fully healed the problem .... the only medical facility found in Estelline is a clinic that is open 4 days a week .... it it run by a nurse along with an assistant and an office person .... we should be able to pickup a couple of A-Paks at the Walmart in Brookings this afternoon .... one will be used to continue the treatment, the other is make sure I have one on hand

its sure hard to believe .... one week from right now we should be somewhere near Kansas City as we wind up our first day's drive on our way back home .... earlier today I took the first step in turning pre-trip plans into action .... that being to spend a couple of hours upgrading our Garmin's map data .... with good weather called for between now and our scheduled departure, we plan to take care of a few things each day .... having been here since early June, we have much more stuff that needs to be cleaned and repacked

Dang Jim, this getting old sucks doesn’t it? Take comfort that you live a very active life and are making the most of it. Best to you and your healing.

good wishes appreciated .... right now, time is the major concern .... I'm recovering on all fronts but time for healing is evaporating .

today, I hope to get some of the TV-trays and such that have been sitting out for a couple of months cleaned and stored .... thankfully, the weather forecast for the next week looks very good .... sure hope they are right

good wishes appreciated .... while definitely on the mend, I still have a ways to go .... hopefully, by the time we hit the road, we can make it without any problem .... my wife has already booked medical appointments, the first for first thing the morning after we are scheduled to get back home

if our plans remain on track, this is our last scheduled Saturday in South Dakota for our current trip .... its been a beautiful day .... several of my wife's relatives drifted in and out for coffee ... a final small family gathering is planned for tomorrow night .... Monday we plan to get serious about packing
