Looks to be overcast as light happens but the local weatherman said to expect some sunshine later. Hope so!

It's supposed to warm up a bit and then this wind will usher in a cold front taking us
back into the deep freeze tonight, but by the weekend we'll be back in the 20s again.

It was 60° this morning on the dog walk. Still a bit of rain outside today but sporadic. It should clear up and be a nice day. Warmer tomorrow followed by a freeze Friday/Saturday. Cooked some hot cereal, toast, and coffee this morning.

Well unlike Alberta and South Dakota (and probably Cooperhawk) here on the west side of the Rockies it’s a very comfortable 8 degrees. Oh you poor folks on the high plains….. but, we are looking at a nice warmup to 24 with a chance of a little snow tonight. Later this week we might see some temps in the mid-upper 30’s which will hopefully start to melt some of this damn snow that’s been on the ground since November. With the overnight lows below freezing this should make for a nice slow melt that will be absorbed into the ground and not just run off into the rivers. Hope so.

According to the USPS email we get daily I should have both a scope and the last tax forms needed in the mailbox as I type this. So now the question is, do I play with scope musical chairs or do my taxes. Dumb question right?

Ranch roper be a hardy lad for sure! Its 18° with a sleet and snow mixture coming down, ( I suppose it's usually so cold where ranch roper lives that he has less experience with sleet, ( I'm no fan of sleet, but it sure beats freezing rain sticking on the power lines and busting the timber down).. anyway... I can see some of the grass in the yard still, so better than it might be, although they are squealing its supposed to snow all day.... oh well... in the end... winter is winter... hopefully a snow plow will come by this morning to make it easier getting down the highway to the other place to feed.... on a postive note, I'm not a cow or deer, or some other varmit standing out in that all night......coffee be good even for us weak natured whinners.... have a good day.... when I'm not our feeding stuff I plan on sanding on a gun stock I'm redoing....

The cold continues. It is supposed to warm up Saturday and then above normal next week.
About time.
A contractor friend has been repairing water damage in a basement bedroom, and today he should
finish up with the dry wall repair. Then the carpet guy will come and relay the carpet. After that
we will steam clean everything to get rid of the mildew. It will be nice to have the room back in use.
I've got three serving trays in the shop that are in the mineral oiling stage. I have relatives waiting
for them.

19 heading to 29 with an inch of fresh snow that fell overnight. Quiet day today with more snow and maybe some rain coming in tomorrow. Temps are supposed to warm up to above freezing. That will be pleasant.

Yesterday being Groundhog Day I wanted to share this website with everybody but the Climatologist who runs it hadn’t updated it when I posted. This guy lives about 20 miles north of my location and does a morning weather and traffic show for two local radio stations. He can report from the comfort of his home using traffic cams and the national weather service. I listened to him for years and recently found out he is a buddy of my neighbors and had the pleasure of meeting him. He does have the ground hogs shown in his pictures and does an annual ground hog day report. Fun stuff.

It's just at the freezing mark. The snow could go to rain or stay snow until dark. A total of a foot is predicted to fall by mid morning tomorrow.

Coffee is in the John Deere mug this morning. I'm sure I'll be manning my John Deere later today.

One errand today then snow clearing is the order of the day.

its a wonderful 70 degrees on a cloudy day .... rain due to move in later and hang around into tomorrow .... finished our taxes but due to H&R block not having a required updated one retirement form, we can't file until the 17th ..

its a warm (for this time of year) 66 degree morning in central NC .... going for a high of 68 with off and on rain for the rest of this area .... only thing on tap for today is our yearly insurance review .... regular breakfast of eggs and sausage paired with Folgers flowing freely
