Hello and welcome from central W Tn.
Nice shooting, I'd say the two of you are a good pair.
Hope you get that deer.

Welcome aboard! For some reason, I see a Henry lever action rifle in your future. Again, welcome.

I’ve resisted a .44 lever forever. But my resistance is wearing thin.

My almost first Henry (and the first I ever saw and held) was a .44 Mag BBB I saw in a pawn shop around 2004.

Had it been a .357 I would have probably bought it but didn't want to have to deal with new dies, brass etc. to start loading for a new to me caliber.

Ultimately bought a new BBB .357 in 2014.

Welcome to the forum and I hope you buy that 44 again real soon so we can add it to our running total. Caution we are big time enablers here.

Well - got blood on the new Henry this evening. Was headed to a stand I wanted to hunt when I saw a deer in the field north. Snuck into the woods and made my way down the west side. Got to the north edge and settled behind a stump. I’d ranged the distance from the stand ten yards behind me to the fence row before so I knew the distance to be 250 - give or take 10 yards. Perfect broadside, settled the crosshairs and squeezed the trigger. It dropped like a stone. I thought it was a doe when I took the shot but it turned out to be a button. Oh well, the venison will be nice and tender.

Yes sir. It’ll be all I use for firearms season. When muzzle loader season comes in I’ll break out the White .451 - AKA “The Meat Maker”. It shoots 400 grain cast boolits at about the pace of a 22 long rifle. But man does it hit hard.
