Re: Some shooting highlights, this week
Now those SW Victorys are some nice shooters. I haven't shot mine in a while and might take it along Saturday.
Great shooting with a loose sight!

Wow, not much left of the original. How does it shoot? Guess the grip counters the extra barrel weight, how is the balance?

Not bad and I really do like heavier guns with bigger grips. I have arthritus really bad so the least felt recoil the better. I know 22s are considered to have much to begin with but for me less is always better.
Saying all of that I would admit this probably was one of the biggest mistakes I ever made. I say that even though at the time I planned from the get go to do exactly what I did. By a S&W Victory and then on top of that purchase the Volquartzen flutted barrel, Volquartzenn Grips, Tandom Kross Trigger, and then pay someone to install it for me.
The reason it was a mistake was because I paid all that money for this gun and then I purchased a S&W 41. I paid not much less for sometyhing that will never be as good as my S&W 41. It just won't be and could never be. In retrospect I would been better off not doing it.
No matter how old I get I still make a mistake or two every once in awhile. Such is life.

I am glad I have never made a mistake, sounds painful. Like the house I bought 9 blocks south of the Indianapolis Race Track. Seemed like a good idea, I could walk to the track and avoid all the traffic, use my own bathroom. 4 weeks prior to the 500 it became nearly impossible to drive to and from my house after 7:00am until 7:00 pm and many friends from out of town came down for various events over the years. Haven't even watched the race since I moved back to Michigan. We can only hope to remember and learn from our mistakes but not repeat them, and I don't repeat them, I just do other stupid things. Brand new ill advised stuff that seems ridiculous afterward. I am looking forward to this supposed "WISDOM" that is supposed to come with age. Wondering if I could ever live that long.

The wisdom is in the mistakes we make and sharing them with others, that others might avoid making the same ones we did.

There are so many things and so many reasons I very much enjoyed my time in the service. One of those very small things are those things that were shared under the term which we called "Lessons Learned".

I like the looks of that way better than the stock gun. Its always had a funny looking grip on it to me.
