So, is there shrinkage from the cold? Does a 10mm become a 9mm?
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

My grandparents had a small cellar like insulated cool room in their detached garage that included a pistol behind the canned tomatoes.

I can understand the concept. One of concerns would be maintaining positive control of the firearm. Then, I would probably be concerned with reliability of firing. The best approach is probably to wear it, if not sleeping. But, I would probably want it to be concealed. If at home, why would it be an issue with me wearing one?

Doesn't get cold enough in normal appliances. You'd have to put it in a bucket of liquid nitrogen to get any perceptible shrinkage, and that would only last a couple of minutes once you pulled it out - wear gloves. :P

Here's a question: If you have one of those "Smart" fridges that inventories what's in the fridge and tells you when to re-supply, will it also inventory the gun? Will it rat you out to Samsung? ;)
Hopefully it will inventory the magazine.

So now the fridge will rat out dad and the kids to mom when they take a midnight snack.

For states with restrictive gun laws, it'll rat you out to the authorities.
