The Rossi lever action that I mentioned above had no heft to it. I think the receiver, at a minimum, is made of some sort of alloy or zinc or chinesium.
Maybe the Savage has steel in it. If so, that's a good thing.
I doubt I will buy another lever action rifle rimfire because I have enough Ruger 10-22's and CZ rimfires to last me quite a long time.
