Welcome to the forum
I tried cast bullets in 30-30 one time and ended up just using factory produced bullets. I found if you use a cast bullet in that caliber you need a gas check on it. I also think I remember reading about that in Mike Venturinos book Shooting Leverguns of the Old West. Really like my SS in 357

I’ll just have to order some bullets and do some playing around.

I have an old Winchester Ranger 30-30 that shoots cast pretty good.

Welcome to the family, from Central Oklahoma. I reloaded a LOT when I was shooting PPC but never cast my own bullets. Just didn't have the time. I was working ten to twelve hour shifts and trying to fit my shooting and reloading into family time. :) I ordered most of my bulk bullets from Georgia Arms, don't know if they are still around these days. I think they are. When I stopped competing, I had just picked up a bulk order of 10k bullets so I'm good. ;)

Jump right in and start posting. It really is a family here. We don't pick on folks, okay we do, but all in good fun. Like family. We'll help any way we can.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.
