Although I agree with you that it looks like a stream it’s actually a frozen pond. We’re not shooting over the pond, the camera angle makes it looks like we are. This is a private range located SE of Spokane and we are using the handgun area. This was a mens outing for my son’s Church that I was invited to.
Guess who just had a birthday? We did. Henry Rifle Forums has made it to the 10 year mark. Thank you to all members, I'm glad you are here!

Re: 1911 day
Here is my favorite 45. It's a match gun built for me by a friend who ran a large metro PD firearms training unit and built most of the PPC competition guns in the state, and many other states. Sadly, he passed away a few years ago, the same year he was selected as the Pistolsmith's Guild Smith of the year. He also built my PPC revolver, and did any other work I needed.
The only thing stock on that Springfield is the frame and slide, and they have been polished and matched.
The grips were made by a member of one of my forums, and I built the knife to match. The Maple came from a Silver Maple we bought the first year we were in our farm in VA, we bought the "Stick" out of a catalog, and it grew to 30 feet tall. Bugs and woodpeckers killed it. Spalted the wood, so I saved it. I made boxes, knife scales and much more from it. I still have a small amount left.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

BOM, that’s a beautiful pair you have there. Nice way to honor and remember a tree you raised from a stick. Very cool!
