This is but one reason I don't reload. But I'm sure you will be.
As said earlier I'm sure it's a very strong action but even so a Low Wall is no High Wall so I have no idea what strength it or either would have for that matter.

I'm sure 45 Colt will be fine with 250gr bullets. I would never load any hot ones. My range only goes out to 250 yds, so that will be challenge enough.

I am waiting on my Cimarron guy to get back to me. Usually about a month to get his orders once he places them to Cimarron in Texas. Hope they have one in stock. He says they carry a pretty good inventory. Should be a great rifle to shoot. Of course I'll need a nice buckskin cover for it...

No doubt, but on the bright side at least Taylors still will do it. If I really wanted it six months might require more patience but it certainly wouldn't stop me. Here's hoping he can find one sooner however.
Good Luck,
Dan

Have you by chance looked on internet sites such as gunbroker and budsgunshop yet?

The problem is the caliber. 45 Colt.
Lots of 45-70 around. Not what I want.

Kind of what I saw when I first checked and was looking for mine. Now it seems they have quite a few in that caliber on gunbroker now that I bought mine but these are Winchesters and not Ubertis.

The latest is Cimarron is checking with the factory to see if there is one they can get special order. If not my dealer will go through Taylors.
Either way it's a wait but will be worth it. Maybe mid summer if lucky.

I bet they could find you one in a 45-70. Since you are loading now no reason not to get you a big ole cowboy gun.

I hear ya, but I'll stick with 45 Colt.
Cimarron will get back to me in a day or so, they are checking with the factory to see what's available, more importantly if they can import one. I'm told Taylors can still order, so that's plan B. A little more dough cuz my guy is a Cimarron dealer not Taylors. Taylors website shows stock but they actually don't have one apparently.
Anyhow, we'll see what happens. I'll line something up sooner or later. There are lots of 45-70's around, but I have 2 bad shoulders now so don't need to make them worse.

RR, I do understand about wanting to stay with the 45 Colt. Yeah, a 45-70 CAN be loaded down to be a mild shooter, but it's still going to be an expensive cartridge to reload. Hang in there for a 45 Colt, even if it takes awhile.
