Woke up to 41° here this morning with a north wind at 17 mph. This is after being close to 80 for the last three days! That's a lot of cattle lost there 220. Hope it gets better soon.

Doesn't look like it is, estimates are now over half a million head lost. The scale of the flooding is almost impossible to comprehend. An area under water the size of Kansas and rivers up to 50 miles across where multiple rivers broke their banks and flood waters combined.
The one saving grace is that it is very lightly populated and the loss of human life has been minimal.

for once in about a week now no rain in the forecast.
May actually get to work all day.
Hard to do vinyl siding in the rain.

A weekend rerun coming up. Most of our snowstorms have been over the weekends in January and February.

Yesterday it was near 50* in KCMO with partly sunny sky. Today the temps are dropping again. Tomorrow is the return of winter. Predicted a high of 19*, 100% snow chance with 3"-5" accum.

The good thing is that it is again hitting on the weekend when most Folk don't have to drive to work!

Hot double mocha in the Henry mug is right on target.

Every few years I watch The Oxbow Incident (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0036244/), which I did again today, thanks to TCM. It is one of my favorite films, for "good reason".

Here's the final scene where Gil Carter (Henry Fonda) reads Donald Martin's (Dana Andrews) letter to his wife, written just before he's hung by a misguided, vigilante mob.

Powerful movie, and Fonda did it well, and with passion. The ride out-of-town at the end of this scene gives the viewer time to consider what was just read in that letter...

Reminds me of another of his "conscience" movies, which I try to watch from time-to-time. It is is one of my favorites: "Twelve Angry Men." Again, the jury members walking out of the courthouse, down the steps, and away in different directions down the street gives the viewer time to consider the outcome of the trial.

Thanks for posting that scene, CT. Great movies are often shown on TCM.

Good morning it's 39 degrees and cloudy here at 9:39 am.

24 this morning and about 2" of snow overnight.

Strange weather here this morning. We have around 6" of snow so far and supposed to change to freezing rain. Total accumulation to be in the 9" with .6 of ice on top. At about 9:00 AM we had thunder and lightning while snowing very hard. Knocked out the phone while I was talking on it and some really bright flashes of lightning lit the room up light a flash from a camera. Hope the electric stays on when the ice comes. Not sure whether to plow now or wait until it is all over. We are getting better than a inch an hour right now.
