SGC .22LR -- Flawless one more time.

After quite a number of dreary, wintry days, I enjoyed driving to the range today in the sunshine. It would have been cool to shoot outside at MDC Parma Woods, but there are quite strong wind gusts. So....crossed "the wide Missouri" and shot my Small Game Carbine at the KS Frontier Justice indoor range.

It was one of those range times that "felt good." I was pleased with my off hand shooting...the barrel stayed darn steady.

Shot 40 rounds of Browning Perf. Rimfire (BPR) 40gr RN, and 20 rounds of Federal 38gr CPHP. The targets list the distances in the descriptors.

For whatever reason, I continue to get better POIs when I shoot at the inverted triangle. Part of the challenge with this round black splash for my eyes is that the front brass bead sights "gets lost" in the black/orange colors. Still have quite a few good rounds in place!

Made the quick decision to quit shooting at this 6" target. I didn't want to mess up the solid 10-round group!! The SGC is most accurate, and I have it sighted-in just fine. Also, I could more easily see the front bead sight against the light target color.

The indoor range max distance is 25 yards. Lighting at that point is not very good. Longest distance of the day.

I cannot let an SGC Range Report go without "bragging" on this Henry Carbine. I've had it for 3 years now shy one month, and have shot 2,458 rounds of all different brands of .22LR ammo. As my subject line also brags, this rifle performs flawlessly!

Great outing, Bob, congrats on that inverted triangle target. I was just thinking yesterday that my SGC has been somewhat abandoned as I mess around with the 357 and 45 Colt, but I'll be getting it out soon.

Know exactly what you mean. I've "neglected" my SGC also what with moving in December, the wild wintry weather, and getting the new .357 Big Boy All-Weather rifle. Last time out with my .22LR Carbine was mid-November. Way too long leaving it in the gun cabinet. It was a good time today shooting a great Henry rifle!
