New here I know, but I'd like to see Henry offer models with a loading gate. Still trying to wrap my head around loading a center fire like my old tube fed .22's.

The original Henry was tube fed. The cavalry didn't like it cause they couldn't load it on a gallop.

What a bunch of sissy's. I'm learning to load mine at a full gallop, while drinking my morning coffee and posting a photo of the mug on the forum.

Did you know on the TV show The Rifleman that Chuck Connors did not remove his finger? Knowing that I've practiced and don't have to remove mine either.

It's a painful habit to get into.

Somewhere I read or heard that for the opening sequence of the Rifleman, the rifle's lever had a modification, a small metal rod that pushed the trigger rearward as soon as the lever was closed so all he had to do was open and close the action as fast as he was able. That made sense to me. Otherwise, Chuck had a very nimble and very fast trigger finger.

Chuck Connors was the first two pro-sport player. He played for the Boston Celtics and the then Brooklyn Dodgers. He practiced for hours with the rifle and was actually an excellent shot. In the opening credits of the pilot episode the rifle had not been modified yet. Interesting that he used a rifle made in 1892 but the show took place in 1881.

He may have purchased it from Doc Brown and Marty McFly before it was actually manufactured. They were in the old west for a little while.

Given the classic theme of the Henry line, I wonder if they could pull off a version of the Stevens "Favorite' .22 rifle. More like the Varner's version than the newer Savage/Stevens model.

I have long admired the elegant lines of the Ruger #1 center fire single-shot rifle.

I would love to see a thinned-down .22 version which could be much lighter and far less-expensive. Versions in .22 magnum and .17 would soon follow.

Plan on adding peep sights and scopes from the get-go as most single-shot guys are after accuracy.

Thinking about this thread and decided to suggest something Henry could do easily.

I have long-admired the H001-T "Frontier" that Bandit1250 did by removing the paint and buffing the receiver cover and barrel band.

The Henry "Evil Roy" is close but I don't care for the short 16" barrel or the writing on the stock.

Levers with barrels of around 20" look and feel more balanced to me.

If Henry could simply use the "Evil Roy" receiver cover and barrel band on their octagon barrel "Frontier" model I wouldn't have to go through all the work Bandit did to create his beautiful version. Another nice touch Bandit did was add the sling swivels.

Mine would be called the "Bandit Special."

Two guns come to mind...
1) A 100% actual stainless steel (from barrel to springs) 357 carbine, with synthetic stock.
They could call it the Henry Big Buoy?
2) A 410 carbine and Mare's leg ( uhh, does that count as 2 or 3?)

Marlin makes a lever 410 as does Rossi.. I'm sure Henry can too.
A Mare's Leg 410 would be an excellent house/barn gun

How about a 327 mag. they would go good with the new Rugers.

The 327 and 32-20 are 2 pea's in a pod . The straight wall 327 works good in revolver but lack the volume of the 32-20 . The bottle neck of the 32-20 was design over 100 yrs ago to feed in lever action guns like the 38-40 , 44-40 , 32-40 and 30-30 . The 32-20 is loaded by the factory on the mild side for the old pistols and rifles that can't handle the high pressures . A hand loader can make a 32-20 really shine and bring it into the mag class . The 32 cal in over 100 yrs is not a very popular round for defense or hunting guns , so the 327 is not going to make it either . Sold these guns in thinning the herd ....

I made those and the only 32-20 Ruger with birdshead grips I've ever seen .

I don't see Henry making a gate loader lever but those pistols are something they should consider.
