It's a bit nippy outside today. Mind you, anything less than 70° feels a bit nippy to me, so 35° is really cold!

Barn thermometer says -40 but hey what's 2 degrees? Horses were pretty frosty. Just finished chores, and time to warm up. Tea in Henry mug.

Actually I'm quite happy to see tons of snow...it's all good. No more -40's in the long range forecast though, Feb and March look to be in the plus 40's.

Our temps have hung in the 20s, and I would love to see a couple feet of snow. Have it hang for the next two weeks or so. I like the sheer silence it brings to the area, only the wildlife moving.

If its going to be in the 40"s up there that must mean RR is shoving all that arctic air some where maybe thats why its only 11 outside my place right now. Poor Badger get him some heat.

They are eating mountains of hay the last few days. They don't call them hay-burners for nothing...

Have never seen -40 down here but I remember some temps close to the -20's when I had my horse and pygmy goats. Was always amazed they did not seem to mind those temps as long as they had shelter and as much hay as they wanted. I would feel their hoofs and they were warm to the touch. At those temps my feet are cold even with wool socks and Sorrels.

Six degrees and the cold weather continues. Hot coffee for an hour or so, then back in the shop. I have been focused on projects for the last month, and now have a few more on the horizon. A live edge foot rest or small coffee table may be popping up soon.

16 degrees (single digit windchill) as this is being typed in central NC .... that's really cold for our part of the country .... really dreading to see this month's electric bill ..

I'm sitting here with -16 as I type, and it's actually not unusual up here. But I sure am getting tired of it, after almost two weeks of unrelenting cold. It'll have to warm up quite a bit to make it to average.

My plan for the day? Pretty much the same as the rest, work a bit in the shop. Miss T will likely do her morning chicken thing, then crochet or work in her shop.

There's a storm working its way in from the Atlantic at the moment. We can expect 80+ mph winds and plenty of rain later tonight, but at least its a mild 52° outside.

We need a warm front to come through Kentucky. I have 2 rifles to sight in. I have become a fair weather shooter, except for deer season.

Miss Evelyn and I spent a second night in the Raindrop while it was parked in the garage. With the curtains pulled we could have been camped anywhere. Running inside the house to make the morning cup of coffee might have been cheating but it sure felt good drinking it.
