My MT husband found out that one of his sisters in another state has cancer this weekend.

My older sister has some issues with her medications and she has to be careful with so many things due to her transplant from many years ago too. She has several medical things wrong with her.

My older brother is doing okay.

Thanks for all of your good wishes and prayers and telling your own encouraging stories about dealing with this awful condition. What it has taught us is to live in the moment, which is a very difficult challenge, but with dual determination we have learned to avoid thinking about the future and, instead, appreciate life today to it's fullness.

Two years of treatments have often been challenging, though. And a river of emotion still runs very close to the surface, and sometimes, too often, it overflows its banks.

Kris Kristofferson wrote one of my favorite songs with a lyric that says, "Loving her was easier than anything I've ever done before". The flip side is that seeing her suffer through these treatments has proven to be the hardest thing I've ever done before.

My wife has cancer and I'm not able to travel now.

Mine does, too. Treatable, but incurable. I wish you both the best, Sir Henry. The title of this thread has taken on a new meaning.

As I have read all the responses to the sharing between Sir Henry and CT_Shooter, it has also highlighted how much depth of feeling and care there is within many of the Henry folk. Concern, compassion, and prayers abounded through the “tears” of this thread. Appreciate all who are supporting these men and their wives….

Gentlemen, without the sharing of your struggles, Sir Henry & CT_Shooter, those “hidden” depths of others’ compassion may just have been hidden for longer, or never even seen/heard. It is simply to our great benefit. I’m grateful you two have shared your “tears” with us.

I will add my on-going prayers along with everyone else…that you may be encouraged and strengthened daily in caring for your wives. And will surely pray that your wives will also be most encouraged by your standing very near to them, through the steps and struggles of your journey together.

Love the Teardrop. I though about building one for a good while. But my truck camper is better suited to what I use it for.

Thoughts and prayer for all who are dealing with health issues. I've lost 2 in my immediate family to cancer way too young. My wife has dealt with health issues for many years though not cancer. I understand what you folks are going through. I'll be heading home for a funeral in a day or so. We lost a family member yesterday. Life knocks you down. You get back up and punch it in the face and move on. Keep fighting the good fight!

Not sure what is worse, seeing your partner through your life suffering or watching your children suffer. Both are excruciatingly difficult. Thoughts and prayers for all who are dealing with these issues.
